Troop Deployment Question

So say i have 50 knights, 50 crossbowman, and 50 sergeants. Now the troops at the top spawn in first so i have X amount of knights and i dont get any other troops til they are out of comission. My question is: how can i get a variety of troops to the field without dragging around less of each unit and/or sacrificing in quality of troops ( splitting my units into different ranks i.e. 25 knights and 25 men at arms or 25 sharpshooters and 25 trained crossbowmen(

Is there some mechanic im missing?

The units at the top will have a large preference for spawning, but you should still see other kinds of troops below them.  But to get more variety in your spawns without increasing the number of units, you could try just having a larger army. Other than that, I don't think there's anything you can do, sorry.
