I've been playing the trial version of regular M&B for awhile now, and by using the limited cheats that are enabled for it, I've been able to complete claiment quests, have an army of over 600 troops (and I don't mean recruits), and take over 3 towns and 4 castles. I don't like using cheats, but since I only have the trial version right now, I've used them to expand what I can do in under 30 days (Calradia time) with a level 7 cap on my character. I've been somewhat concerned with a few things about purchasing a serial key from taleworlds online, because there are alot of things posted in the forums about problems with it. should i buy the physical game, or just buy the serial key online?

P.S. - I would explain how to do all of the said achievements, but I'm not sure if it would get me banned. I haven't tinkered with the trial version (hacked it, etc.) or anything, I just figured how to use the little quirks/bugs in the game, coupled with the ctrl + Left click teleport cheat to save time. Anyhow, M&B is the best game I've ever played (I'm 30y/o) and can't wait until next payday to finally be able to play the full game and then on to Warband!

Cheats in the trial version are not bannable offences.
In any case, the most recent set of problems came from Steam, specifically their online activation codes being of a different sort than the non steam versions.

All in all, if you don't want to mingle with this just buy the non steam version. If you're buying a CD to avoid Steam issues, be sure to check the entire box over, fine print included, to make sure Steam isn't included on it.

For other sites, there doesn't seem to be much trouble just steam. If you see better deals on other online sites it's about the same as owning a physical copy. Better yet, online retailers usually keep track of your receipts and can provide you with the key you ordered in the event you lose it.
