Recruit
Hey guys.

Been playing for about a week now.

Before that I played back in march (v.0.936 or whatever)

Awesome game though it's ruining my social life and sleep cycle.

A few quick questions.

How much experience is required to level up nord veterans?

For god's sake!!

I've fought close to 10 battles with these 4 nord veterans in my party. Each battle being worth 4000-7000 exp.
And no upgrades available. I need to complete that stupid "Raise six Huscarls" quest.

Is it because the experience is split up between all the members of my party equally.

Or is it normal that it takes so damn long.

Anyone help?

It's normal; have you ever seen what a large party of huscarls can do? It's only natural that it takes a long time to level nord veterans up...and their dangerous enough  well, the only help i can give is to put them against a large band of sea raiders; it'll take a damn long time, but they won't die.

I hate the "Raise x amount of troops" quest. So when I do get it, I just cheat to give the troops the experience needed for what they need to be, and then finish the quest.

They take ages to level up. I recommend getting a huge amount of nords, each nord gets a set amount of exp which goes to their stack, so its FAR faster to level up 50 Nord Veterans tan it is to level up 4.

my advice too. just run around fighting with 20 nord veterans. after those huge battles like that, there will be more ready to lvl than if you just have 4 or 5

oh yeah, try knights ,when you fight infantry if you have enough, you will almost never take dead iftheir good enough and you'll level em quick as youget more.

If you expect this to be a continual issue, it may be worth investing in a lot of NPCs and a lot of points in trainer. Trainer stacks across your NPCs, so if you have enough, you can turn peasants into mid level troops in short order.

I know this from personal experience, THE MAN SPEAKS THE TRUTH.

thanks for the help guys. I took a Khergite castle and asked my king if I could keep it. After he gave it to me I garrisoned everything save my 12 nord infantry.

1 hour later I had twelve Huscarls. I gave 6 of them to King Ragnar and used the other six to defend my castle against a 307 strong khergite invasion force. My defense force measured 48 units. I have screenshots to prove it.

That's not too surprising. Castle defense is not especially challenging, and even less so if you're packing huscarls against Khergits, who have a bit of deficiency in close quarters combat in a siege.

and when you finally finish training them... put them all in your own castle. Reward for that quest is not worthy six huscarls.
