when i get that ''raise me 5 vaegir knights'' mission I always go fight river pirates. i kill most of them myself and unleash my few units on the remaining baddies. it is a certain and safe way of upgrading troops, but it's also damn slow method. fighting mountain bandits is faster but i find it be lethal to my units. even when i tell them to ''hold this position'' a couple of run-away-bandits always seem to slip through my attacks and go kill some of my precious units who i try to protect.

so my question is.. who should i fight to raise those few knights safely but still relativily fast?

I gave both marnid and borcha decent training skills, so they can raise a full stack of peasant up to knights in less than a week.

Also don't forget the overnight stays in taverns. Spend a few days there.

i dont carry neither of them with me
i'm not much of a partyplayer, i can have 10 people in my party and i dont even got points in trainer.

There's no one easier to defeat than river pirates; they're poorly armed and wear little armor. If I were going for experience point for weak units, I'd start with them. However, once you start advancing your men through the ranks, you'll need either more and more pirates or tougher opponents.

All that is absent any training points on your team: if you did have the ability - which is very very useful by the way - I'd say Train the troops at the tavern for a week and you'd take the dregs of Vaegir into lean mean fighting machines.

At times, I've had Borcha separate temporarily from my party taking some of the tougher troops, in order for me and my remaining troops to fight the battle and not share the exp points. Also during the battle I wound but not kill my enemies; kind of like a mother lion training her cubs.
