Is there any further use from Training grounds except learning to use new weapons? Just seems a bit pointless being as you learn quicker when fighting the real moving enemy.

The sparring practices with your men can be used to level recruits fairly quickly.

Really only useful if you don't have any points in training and you're having trouble keeping your men alive.

Thanks for that, sounds good, I didnt realise could train your troops there, didnt even occur to me to think of trying that.

Just for.... training.

Thanks for clarifying that a training ground is for training. I thought it was where you queue for the icecream, thank god you came along when you did.

Now lets not get too aggressive..

Please note that the TG are a rather slow way to train your troops. To invest heavy amounts of points into training (and INT) is a rather easier way to train your troops, however, it requires that you put points into it.

Using the TG is free, it only requires your time.

Like others have said, it can be used to train soldiers. However, most of the time it is only useful to train recruits or equally inexperienced soldiers in your party. Doing this is quick and can give them some rudimentary armor and weapons instead of their usual aprons and rocks that they start out with as recruits.

It's not recommended that you continue to do so into the upper levels. It takes quite a while to get them even to mid tier through training alone. Fighting other parties on the map is much quicker once you have adequately equipped men at your side.

Sparring stops being effective pretty quickly, but the horseback and ranged weapon practices will let you train troops that are linked to those skills fairly easily. So khergit troops will get experience when you do horse archery training, crossbow troops when you use the crossbow for ranged weapon practice, etc.

I've also noticed that when you have more total troops of one type with you, more of them will be ready to upgrade sooner. So it might be worth it to recruit about twice as many people as you need, train half of them, and let the rest get killed next time you fight. Haven't tried it myself, though.
