I was wondering if anyone has tried giving highest tier troops points into trainer as in just 1-2 skill points. I was wondering because I think it would be a decent way without ruining the realism to train up armies faster.

It wouldn't ruin the realism because really, people that spend all day with master soldiers aren't going to learn which end of the sword is sharp?

I only give Compagnions points in trainer skill.

I meant edit the troops.txt to make it so that the highest level troops have a couple of points in trainer...

This would be a great idea i think - it could be combined with the idea about adding: Swadian EXPERIENCED knights with points in trainer, and Nord EXPERIENCED huscarlds and so on.

Would be great, as long as if u got 50 knights it doesnt mean 100 points in trainer total, that would be too much.

yeah but the max a player can have for a party within a career give or take is like 100 + renown which will be 50-70 troops or so and if you are training troops it's unlikely that you would have many max levels in the party with them and also max levels would take quite a while to get there so yeah I can see where it could get overpowered but, I still think I might make it so within the next game I start.

I don't think regular troops affect the party skill, just the heroes. Some troops already have a couple of points in training (Swadian Sergeants, I think) and it makes no difference.

Your troops training skill does not count for their training. So raising it is pointless. Just like raising any of their non combat skills. Only you and your companions count.
