Hi guys.

I recently tried the trial version of M&B; and almost immediately purchased it.
It's a fantastic game and I'm loving the mounted combat.

There is one thing that is bugging me at the moment however and that is the Quest to train 6 Peasants to fight.
It's usually the first Quest offered when I walk into the nearest Village and I'm having a bit of trouble.

You see I hit Tab and then select 'Train Peasants'.
I summarily beat the student to a pulp with my Broom-handle. I repeated this until the Quest expiration and not a single peasant had learnt enough to qualify as being trained.

Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need more points in the ability that makes training others take less time? (I forgot the skills name).

Cheers in advance.

Something certainly sounds amiss. Whenever I have had this quest I usually get 1-3 trained peasants after I "beat" them "to a pulp" and repeat till the bandits eventually attack the village.

Yeah I even let th student beat me; in the hopes it would qualify them.
Unfortunately the game was wise to my wiley tricks and it still didn't count ;(

Strange, after every training session at least one of them qualifies in my games, sometimes all of them.  :?

Hrmm yeah it is a bit odd.
It's still happening so I am just avoiding those quests for the time being. :)

Thanks for the replies tho! :)

This quest is completely tied around the "trainer" skill. The more you have of it, you less time you will need to do it.

With about 5 in the skill, you should be able to do it with about 3 training sessions, then you will have to fight the bandits.

Isn't the quest to train militia instead and not really make any specific number of successful villagers who are trained?

Have you lost a training session? They won't learn anything unless you beat the crap out of them. Losing will only require that you train the same villager again.
The more trainer points you have, the more villagers that are likely to pop up for a training session. It's likely for someone with 10 training to fight multiple villagers during training to train them, this will facilitate the task that much quicker.
