I think that something like this should be implemented into the game:
For Examples sake lets say there are 2 villages & 2 Castles in a faction that belong to you and another lord, You own one Village & one Castle, He owns the same. His village is on side A. of the faction And yours is on side B. Your Castle is on side A. and his is on side B. Your in your castle waiting for something when your village is attacked.
You hurry over to side A. to save your village but by the time you get there it is destroyed, Same with the other lord.
Now the point is that you should be able to trade Villages, Castles & Towns: It would cost a certain fee, you would need to have that lord to like you to an extent and you would have to pay more if it is not a good tactical decision for that lord like it would be to switch castles in the above scenario.
Also you could switch 2 Vilages for 1 Castle +Standard Fee, 5 Villages for one town + Standard fee. And vice verse on all of these.
Another thing is that a lord could ask you if he wanted to switch and he would pay you the fee.
Although this process could take time such as a week for men to transfer between castles and move items/prisoners/banners from the castle. And you could only trade with a lord ever say 1 month.
I think this would be a good idea as it would make it easier to defend your village.
