Trade skill behaving strangely after patch 1.0.5?

正在查看此主题的用户

Only since today's patch (1.0.5) I'm getting no Trade XP often times even when selling items for twice the price I paid for them and the transactions weren't small, at least 1000 denar each and it's not like it's only happening at really high Trade level either (level 15 and yes it's a new game with the correct patch). Any one else experiencing his?

I believe its based on the difference in value per unit not overall profit. So selling high end item for double the price (ex velvet for +100 instead of grain +7) will give you a lot more points

not confirmed just my theory

If you buy e.g. velvet for 100 and sell it for 200 you will get XP.
If you buy that velvet for 100, reload game and sell it for 200 you will NOT get XP.

Basically if you trading, save your game as much as you want, but never reload because trade XP for all items in your inventory will be lost.
If you plan to close your game session, make sure that you have finished your trade run.

I think it is a bug, but may be an intented feature.

Wow if that's what's going on that's a serious problem.

This issue is not on the know issues list. If you can confirm this bug please report it in the support thread.

100% what is going on. Can confirm.

It should be noted that Trade Focus points and Social attribute points have a large impact on the amount of experience you gain by multiplying the base value of xp. Your Learning Rate determines how quickly you can level up a skill.

Yeah, this does make sense, as even in the higher level ranges I could get runs where I would still get +3 trade, while on some runs I would get no increase, although similar profits.
Also I think indeed that absolute profit is less meaningful than profit margin on individual goods. So selling velvet at 100 difference is better than selling ten grain at 10 difference. It would make sense to incentivize long trade-runs for certain goods instead of bulk runs at short distances.

About long trade runs: a lot of may happen to your party when you fetching dates from desert to Vikings. One reload and no xp.

That is why at this point I am doing mostly short runs.

I can confirm this. You don't receive trade experience if you save and the load the game between buying the items and selling them.

I coincidentally got a little trade skill today when I sold a bunch of grain I got from enemy lord battles to a village (hoping it will carry over into castle food? still not sure) which was very surprising to me. Formerly I had only gained trade when I purposely buyd from a shop and immediately fallowed the trade rumor and sold it where it was supposed to be higher price. I have never ever got any trade from selling metals I smithed myself, even when following a trade tip or making huge red profits on steel and fine steel. So I assumed it was only store bought goods, but the grain today was not.

Trade xp should not work that way. If you are selling items for more than the average price, you should get xp. That way saving and loading would make no difference and things would make more sense.

Basing xp on selling_price - average_price won't be good as it doesn't reward player (in terms of xp) for finding bargains.
Savegame should preserve buying_prices, just like game engine does.
