Yep, I know that already. I meant that, what has to be done in FILES to change the troop type recruitment in towns. For example in Vaegir towns you can recruit Standar bearer and Horseman and I want to change Horseman to Cossacks (I found it strange for Horseman to loose all their fine equipment in leveling up in exchange for worse one. So Cossacks, with some lowerd attributes, will switch place with them and be able to level up to modyfied Horseman or Vaegir Aristocratic Cavalryman or just to the second ones  - uf... the whole story :smile:)

I've just got this idea: open up troops.txt. Cut the vaegir horseman entry into another document. Copy the Vaegir cossack entry into where the Vaegir Horseman entry was, BUT KEEP THE SAME trp_ thingy the same. (in this case cut all of the Vaegir horseman entry into another document, but leave the trp_vaegir_horseman.) then shove the rest of the Vaegir Cossack was behind that. Do the same to the Cossack entry. Oh who bothers, here's my code:

(replace Vaegir Horseman entry with this one)

If you leave it like this, the Cossacks will upgrade to Vaegir Horsemen. Simply use the Troop editor to do the rest. That's what I think would help.

Thanks Venitius. That would do the job. But there are always "buts" :razz:. In game there is a troop company named Tsardom Cossacks and with this modification they all gona be Horsemen because of their unmodyfied troop_ID/changed code (yeah, yeah I know, wanna to be TOO perfect :razz:). To fix this, I think, I have to change this entry a bit:

pt_vaegir_scouts Tsardom_Cossacks 4194311 0 16 137 92 30 65 0 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1

I think the number 92 corresponds to the rank number in Troop Editor (Tsardom_Cossacks use 92 - Vaegir_Cossacks), 'em right? If yes, than it must be changed adequate to My (Venitius suggested) modyfications.
 
I think the 92 is a stat of the unit- such as polearms or archery.

Use the troop editor's handy partytemplates.txt. thing to edit the Tsardom Cossacks company.
 
On a related note, I have indeed read the FAQ (about 100 times) and always wonder about this one:
There's a third type of troops, Regional Troops. They belong to certain towns, they will garrison it, and accompany it's owner to the field. To have access to them the player must conquer and get ownership of the town.

Can anyone clarify this a bit?  I'm not sure what these regional troops are and don't know if I've ever seen any.  By reading the above, I've always kinda thought that in order to get these regional troops, all I had to do was take an enemy town and have it awarded.  I've taken 3 enemy Vagyar towns now, and never been able to recruit any sort of special troops (I'm Laurian).

By "garrison it and accompany it's owner to the field" does this mean that they only appear when you are attacked in that town (thus leading to these troop types appearing as part of the town garrison?)  Or do they automatically show up as part of the garrison and I just haven't found the right towns yet?
 
Nibelheim has Queen's Guard, Ulm has Ulm Mounted Arquebusiers, L'Renouille has Guards of the Leviathan, Ellis has Hand's of the Pope, the other 2 Lion Throne towns have Gunther-Piedmont Cannoneers, the Capital of the Tsardom (I can't remember the name) has Oprichnik

There may be more but I can't remember anymore. These are troops you can only get if you control that town.

I just got Nibelheim but I couldn't get Queen's Guard, do I have to join Laurian?
Now I'm with Imperial State.

Hope I get the question right, I'm not native speaker though.

Queen's Guard troops will be added to Nibelheim's garrison every now and then. If you own the town you can simply transfer them from the garrison to your party. It's the same for all regional troops.

Oh so they're not recruitable like the standard bearers then? I didn't know that. I've yet to capture a city. :lol:
 
Sorry but may i ask some question about town recruitment here??

I need to know if there is a way to recruit kingdom troops different from your own. I conquered Sargoth and Thir from Laurians, and Frederick Willhem (Imperial State, my Kaiser) gave them to me, but i am only able to recruit Imperial troops in those towns, while i supposed to be able to recruit some elite laurians troops :sad:

No. You can only recruit the elite troops of the faction your a vassal of regardless of what city you recruit from.

Then, there is no other way to have access to diferent Kingdom troops isnt it? That should be great, got in mind some combo troops  :grin:

Your Welcome! and yeah there's no way. A pity though, I've always wanted Repeater Gunners and Laurian Herruelos in my army.

Edit: There's a way but it's hard. You have to find a party that has those kingdom troops as prisoners

Does Queen's Guard still garrisoned if the Laurians has eliminated?
