More queue than for toilet paper in last february :

and it was the end of the battle at 10min

It's probably the most glaringly immersion breaking bug.
They should climb up the tower, fill the space at the top, and then lower the gangplank and charge.
There must be a reason why this hasn't been fixed since the game came out, what is it about the ladders that the AI can't handle?
Maybe it'd be better if they all had ramps like the smaller towers, or an internal staircase sort of design.

Agree with all of the above. Basically sieges are fairly dreadful because of it, thought this was patched

It is truly perplexing that this does not work as it should, at this stage of development.

If we look back at our beloved 2016 videos; the one about the defense, the bots fill the gap before the footbridge goes down. In the attack video, do not

The AI team will surely be working their asses off, however my impression is that as the months go by, the AI turns out to be ... let's say "less lucid". I usually play in Challenging SP and the trolling that you can carry out with the AI in a 1vs1 is awful. With the new patch, I'm sorry to say ... I do not see a significant improvement despite the intensive testing I've done; rather the opposite ... the same flaws and inconsistencies as always.

But... either they are having problems with the computational capacity/optimization balance, or I can't explain it to myself.

Maybe this was all just scripted? Maybe that´s why the development took so long?

Like 4 years to get this video

The defenders at the gate are also really defending and not just standing there? What happened to this stuff?

For real, the siege from the videos looks "better" than any siege I´ve played in Bannerlord?

The tower in that video has a ramp not ladders, I think that's the reason it appears to work well.

It wasn't something scripted (let's not go hitting with the hammer without a reason either :iamamoron: ); they had plenty of material back then:

True. Have you tried how they currently work in the game?

But why was the AI able to defend the gate in 2016 but not in 2020? In my sieges I can just go behind them and kill them all most of the time.

I don´t get it?

It's sad, but I have resorted to just auto resolve sieges. I loose too many units otherwise due to these issues.

I'm still on 1.4.2 but the ramp towers used against level 1 walls have generally always worked better. It's ladders which are the problem.

Well, a picture is worth a thousand words.

When the tower is moving, there is no one on it; this should not be so.
When the tower reaches the wall, there is no one on it; this should not be so.
When the attackers start to rise the ramp it is so late that the defenders have taken the tower and are practically outside the walls.

I don't see what works better... honestly.

All of that is true. The tower should be full before it starts moving.

What works better is that the units can actually move up the ramp without much difficulty but aren't even able to climb towers most of the time.

There's a mod called 'Fix Siege AI' which gives the player full control over siege battles. By using this and micromanaging you can actually get men to climb the ladder towers a lot more smoothly but it's tedious and clunky and still doesn't always work.

on my last siege (1.5) the units on the base of the tower were buting each others like retarded which created the queue

Watching these old videos of Bannerlord pre early access just make me sad.
That was the game I was buying, where did it go?

I have a strong suspicion that it was scrapped because they could not make it performant enough, which is a shame. And I say this whilst having a fairly week gaming PC.

I agree. This is such a major issue with the gameplay. It really destroys the level of fun in sieges. A lot of friends who were playing rage quit because of this issue and never came back. I agree it is the siege towers with ladders that are the biggest issue. What I don't understand is why they can climb the usual ladders without nearly the same issue. I think @ourgekj hit the nail on the head. It is because the ladders are too close together the a.i. blocks eachother and it doesn't work. So perhaps they just need to widen these higher wall level towers so that there can be a bit more space between the ladders... Someone should try this when mod tools come out.
