Tournament reward for companion?

Sometimes I found my companion won the tournament champion, but that makes no effect on the team at all. Shouldn't they get the reward of the tournament or something? It will make more senses by doing that.

+1 - That makes complete sense, if they win - why would they not get the reward, or the money they could earn from it to buy gear the need?

This makes sense, they should also gain experience as well. This could be a bit exploitable though as you can enter a tournament with a bunch of companions and essentially rig the prize since there is no consequence of losing your life or your companion's life. Maybe a tournament could have a Clan cap of members to enter or introduce group tournaments (the group rounds are awesome) where the grand final is a group battle for 1 prize (if your group is mixed Clans then the cash prize is divided and the main prize has a lot roll among winners).

I'm actually really enjoying getting to watch scenes where my companions fight in the melee. I'm kind of liking getting the chance to cheer them on.

What might prevent this from being broken is an "ownership" system, where you can't sell or equip the item a companion has won on anyone other than that companion. "Locking" the item in a companion's weapon slot might also work, but I'm not a huge fan of that because it has the potential to lock a character on a weapon they're bad with.

Similarly it'd be neat if you could bet on your companions and profit that way. You'd only be able to place a bet on one person at a time though, so you can't get a bunch of companions and bet on all of them to win.

I absolutely love that I can now watch the tournaments, by the way. Even when I don't feel like doing them myself I'll sometimes watch a tournament just for the fun of it.

Easily exploitable, is all. Put five companions in the tournament, you get six chances to win. It'd have to be balanced somehow.

Also, companions should get the reward/should have some kind of armor if even if they are not part of your party, it's weird to fight "the shieldmaiden" wearing peasant's cloth

yea they should be getting the prizes for whatever they won. but then again, i dont see any inventory for companions.

LOL, exactly what I am thinking every time my companion knocks me out of the tournament where I am trying to win armor for him to upgrade his gear with
