Game crashes upon "War is here" - Video Sequence. Able to reload and continue however it seems strange as Laptop is high end and bought it last week only

Anything known about it or tweak or work around ?

Fascinated by the concept of the mod

They often do. Try to hold your troops back in hopes to getting the enemy piecemeal and bring more ranged troops to thin the numbers before they get to you.

Edit: Scout camps are way worse. Specially the non-fortified ones. Face a faction with lots of throwers, like Dunland or Gundabad, and it is literally hell.

Edit 2: Is this the most active channel of discussion about the mod?

This along with the Steam Workshop discussions. The mbx forum seems to be abandoned.

Seems weird as a history nerd as me playing The Last Days, mod not is so boring because is skipped stupid adventurer-vassal-king path which make feels unique and immersive compared to other mods.

Is the Noldor Bow the only bow with Piercing damage that can be used on horseback? And do humans have any (non reward) piercing bows of any kind?

yeah. except i finished the game and they never arrived. hehe. it would be a nice addition for the mod though. Pipin and merry are there. why not include aragorn, gimli and Legolas. only sam and frodo where the ones who remained in the original party so its ok to exclude those 2.

The sea battle quest (at least its Esgaroth variant) appears to have some confused strings in its dialog. After defeating the Rhûn fleet, the Dale lord who gave me the quest said only "Dale", instead of the congratulatory text he should give. I guess the string for the faction name has mixed up with the proper string for this occasion.

I've replicated it twice, first using the Spanish version and then the English to see if it was a problem derived from the traslation, but it happened both times. I'm using the latest workshop build so this may be old news already and be fixed in the nightlies

Edit: I've also noticed some odd log massages like "Rhovanion Noble of Commoners was defeated in battle" popping out whenever a Dale lord is defeated, along with the proper massage for the particular lord. I supposed those messages if they're supposed to exist at all, should be hidden. I think some Moria commanders have also appeared as "of commoners" when defeated and thus the message was red, even when I'm in the good side.

I noticed there is a Rohan Skirmisher variant that is unmounted and can't be upgraded. Furthermore, the gray Courser got more health than the white one despite having the same cost.

Edit: The gray one is used by veteran raiders, lancers, and skirmishers. Maybe it was supposed to be an intermediary horse between the courser and the warhorse? Although the hunter could fill that hole, and isn't used at all.

Edit 2: The Chieftain Blade of the Dunlanders is ridiculously quick, even on the standard version. While it does give the Wolf Guard one more trick other than the wolves to compete against the Night Wolves javelins, maybe it is a bit OP? Like, it is pretty much impossible to duel them.

Edit 3: So I decided to drop my Rohan campaign on day 300 something and leave my aar. We very quickly managed to get Isengard. I was hopeful the Dunlendings would quickly follow, but around that time, the enemy took over Cair Andros and W. Osgiliath, resulting on a flood of raiders and warparties roaming in between Gondor and Rohan. Said roving bands would slaughter Rohirrim caravans going to Gondor, thus permanently keeping their faction strength very low, thus not allowing them to ever finish off the Dunlendings, thus never starting patrol missions in Gondor. No good. Eventually I got oathbreaker and decided it was not worth it anymore.

Edit 4: What exactly is the maximum party size I can have hiding from the enemy and how does Wildcraft affect it?

I'm all done with the Spanish translation, barring any typos that might have escaped my gaze. I'm reasonably pleased with it, though that doesn't mean that when the next update comes around I won't be re-reviewing everything again and finding new things to improve.

All this revisiting has put me in the mood to start a proper game. Maybe I will actually finish the War for once. I'm playing Beornings for a change, I've never really delved into the northern campaign before.

What are the rules for the bear companions spawning in battle? Are they tied to a particular unit or you get one just for being a Beorning?

I've found a bug with the train x soldiers quest. In my Beorning game, I've taken the quest from King Dain and chosen to train troops in the arena for him instead of taking the recruits with me. When I click "begin training" the camera hovers over an empty arena (no sign of my character or the opponents), I get some error logs and after a few seconds I'm kicked to the "You failed to defeat any enemy" screen, and back to "begin training" in an endless loop, because I cannot leave the arena scene. I've done the quest in this same playthrough several times with no problem, but this was the first time I took it from a dwarf Lord being myself a man. I suppose that could be the problem, and the game can't figure out which race it should spawn?

Here's the script error

PS: Contrary to my last couple of reports, I don't have the dev cheats activated this time (I forgot to mention that before )

Thanks. Should be fixed in my dev build.
