1. Make sure you are using the Original Mount&Blade, not Warband.
2. Start with a fresh install (e.g., install this somewhere else, and install the module into the same folder. I personally use "C:\Program Files\TLD\".)
3. The 3.23 version download is an exe file, don't place it in the modules folder, run the file.

That should work.

That one is actually outdated. The latest version is 3.23 and you can find it on the mod's main forum (linked in OP).

Hi guys, i enjoyed to play thins mod but, i have only one problem. When big battles begin, i have a runtime error and my game crash
I installed the Stability and the coldfix but i already have the problem
I have 150 troops in each battles and it begins without bugs, but when the ennemy's reinforcements arrived, the game crash. No runtime error, just a crash.
Do you have some solutions for me ?

Thanks in advance

Somebody tell me that : "If you don't apply the Large Address Aware fix, MnB is only using a fraction of your RAM. So, do that."

How can i apply the address aware fix please ? i tried that : http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=34392&d=1269231650  Tell me if it's right pls
Gratitude for the answer

Swyter is playing with it. It's very hard to do a full port, so there should be no expectations that a Warband port will be ever released.

Playing the steam game. It crashes a fair bit so i have to save a lot. There's a few things i don't like with this.

Firstly The nation balance is pretty awful.  Every evil faction but mordor is incredibly weak.  Especially the isolated dol guldur and easterling camps who are surrounded by strong enemies... and gundabad which is simply lonely. I feel as if factions should have "villages" like the original mount&blade game (camps, outposts, hamlets, farms).  and that every faction should have at least two city settlements.

Orc Players should start out with better stuff. I mean you only reason why you'd play as an orc rather than an uruk is for warg riding. But no, you start naked with a club. Eh? You're the weakest race around AND you start with nothing?

Orcs would be better off if they looked more like how they did in the movies. Just the orcs, i think the uruks ok.. but the standard orc looks poorly done at the moment.

Odd. My game never crashes.

When did we ever say the game was meant to be balanced? Some factions are easier, some harder.

Sounds to me that the game is simply too difficult for you. Many players have beat the game as evil factions. Maybe turn the difficulty down a bit.

I feel as if factions should have "villages" like the original mount&blade game (camps, outposts, hamlets, farms).  and that every faction should have at least two city settlements.

Really now? Please tell me which villages and towns, from Tolkien books, would that be?

We made orcs as described by Tolkien. Take it up with him if they're too weak for you. We know it's a challenge and it's meant to be a challenge and a good player can win the game as an orc too...

Orcs would be better off if they looked more like how they did in the movies. Just the orcs, i think the uruks ok.. but the standard orc looks poorly done at the moment.

Thanks dude.  :???: I made those orcs and I think they are pretty accurate to Tolkien's descriptions.

I don't find the game too hard. I'm playing a few characters at once. Most of them are half a month in, though the orc character is one month in. I understand the factions aren't supposed to be ballanced but some of the factions just aren't as fun as others. Gondor for example is realy good. Superior equipment, A good area to do missions in,  Each city has it's own units and you've got a good variety of enemies to fight. Meanwhile gundabad is about a three day walk from everything and offers nothing.

Factions like gundabad, dol guldur, moria and harrad  should have more outposts. More places for missions and more rogues around.

Orc **** is **** and should be cheaper.  Compare the effectiveness of orc items to less expensive yet better performing items from everywhere else.

Providing orc players with a choice of starting items (spear and armour, helmet and shield, bow and arrows, weak warg) Or more resource points would make the first few orc days far more fun to play.  Uruk-hai start with a good sword, easterlings start out with the option to sell their sword for a mount and club, Good factions get decent weapons and clothes. Starting with nothing but a tiny club is frustrating.

I found it a bit boring at times. The chance of your faction going to siege the enemy is low, and then half the time they never actually get to the siege part. But it is a good game, and I like all the factions. Best are the Mirkwood elves and the Umbar Raiders.

On a slightly related note, your rapidshare link doesn't work, and the Repository is infamous for its terribly slow downloading.

Edit: After playing for a bit, I got to my first companion, and it says 'str npc14 backstory responce 1' and 'str npc14 backstory responce 2', and then carried on like that until I said 'I can't help you with that'. Also, my rank is called str Umbar 2, which kinda kills immersion.

Others would view it as a challenge. Anyway, you're looking at the "balance" from a purely min maxing and subjective "what's fun" point of view. Number of settlements is a tricky thing. A) some of it is bound by lore B) even if there is room to invent stuff, it's a pretty complex system and unforeseen situations arise from messing with it.

tl;dr - it's mostly a personal view and while valuable as feedback, it most likely won't change our mind. Also, work on the mod's pretty much stopped for now.

Sounds like you're either A) playing an old version of the mod, or B) installed it wrong.
Rapidshare is dead, true, because Rapidshare changed their sharing policy and pretty much everyone left the service, me included.

The most up to date version of the mod is very easily and quickly available over at ModDB.

Orcs players start with bad equipment, but they can improve their proficiency in the arena, but yes, they have a worse start than other evil players, in the past was even worse for example Moria had worse rewards. For roleplay instead of a better start orcs should have a quicker rank advancement with their native nation: weak and indisciplined race, easier to being recognized as the best commander.
