Still about 5 years people, so sit down and wait!

5 years? Is this for the final version or when the first version available to the public?

And then the TLD team can make it for M&B2 and it will be beautiful. \ö/

Or, of course, you can make less silly assumptions and just leave them to mod. IF they have to reply to constant nagging then obviously the modding itself will slow down, so shut your face. :U

Actually silly comments do not really impede our progress.
Progress is limited with the free time moders can and are willing to dedicate to modding.

Like I said a year ago...we could release back then already. But with loads of **** not finished and with vanilla gameplay. Since we want TLD to be different there is a lot of additional work involved.

All our scenes are unique. Lots and lots of custom buildings. We have replaced practically every vanilla item with our own. Armours, weapons, horses. All cultures look and feel unique. Even town walkers are unique to factions. The map is huge. Map icons are unique too. We also woried about framerate and playability, so we're making lods for items, we remapped tons of items for optimal texture sheet use, reworked random generated scenes, tons of optimisations, etc, etc. And then there's code which is meant to make playing TLD an immersive Tolkien world experience.

And all this done by a handful of people who do have lives, jobs, partners, etc.
So...we could release as is, we could give up and forget about it, or we can keep putting the puzzle together, bit by bit. And when it's functionable it'll be released.

Thank you for your patience.

Is there ANY predictions as to when this will be released?

Could be soon. Or not.

Any other options?

In all seriousness, as long as this mod IS eventually released I'll be happy, and I know that the longer you guys spend on it, the better it will be.

shouldn't regular army of gondor armours be little different ?
The armour in the movie is different to the armour described in the books, the TLD team bases all their models off the ones in the books.

I believe he means that there should be more variation from troop to troop. That kind of uniformity was unheard of from the time period LOTR is based off of and expensive as well.

No clue if it actually should be via the lore though.

Also, a little variation just looks better.

The Gondorian army is probably the most varied, each fiefdom has its own style. And MaB being what it is, we're trying to stay under the item limit. (and we have many factions, so they can't be super varied in their equipment)
