Tips on melee?

To be good at NW all you have to do is just spam the overhead whilst strafing right around the enemy. Blocking helps too. Or you could spam overhead anyway and it beats almost everyone.

Alternatively if you want to learn some more useful techniques which can be applied to other Warband modules this guide gives you pretty much all the infomation you need. It is a good read and can recommend it.

Practice in groupfighting servers, practice blocking up and down really fast, try dolphin dive attacking (upper attack straight down) or some of those tricks when you progress.

Try out your new found tips in a TDM server, you'll be half-way decent at melee in no time.

Since I also feel an urge to share something else as well my tip is to practice, once you understand the mechanics it's all about getting enough practice when it comes to applying them.

Since I also feel an urge to share something else as well my tip is to practice, once you understand the mechanics it's all about getting enough practice when it comes to applying them.

Hekko is of course right practicing them will make perfect I'd suggest the Groupfighting_server or duel servers.

The kick is not useless its just harder to use in NW think its to do with turn speed but the point is many good players can use it effectively and change the outcome of a duel.

Practice makes perfect. I always say. Keep on trucking and you will become decent.

for a while, I went into melee's only blocking. Once I had blocking to perfection. I started throwing in some attacks, timing when best to use it etc. But ultimately I just played a whole lot till I got decent.

True, but this guy sounds like he is new and only good players can effectively use the kick in NW

Well, i don't think that kicking is useless in NW, just know where and when to use it
And first improve your blocking, it is essential for  Warband.

Once you know the basics of blocking, feinting and spamming it's just a matter of being patient, as a lot of NW groupfighting is decided by who gets bored first.

I only find melee difficult because my average ping is 200 in NA, 300 in European servers (Argentinian guy here)... However if I create a listen server I'm fairly decent...

EDIT:

Spam and strafe right, throw in occosional block and you'll top the server in melee. Skill ceiling is quite low in NW.

Get good at native blocking and melee in NW is a cakewalk.
