Red (Gules): Warrior or martyr; Military strength and magnanimity
Green (Vert): Hope, joy, and loyalty in love
Black (Sable): Constancy or grief

Charges:
Spear/Pike: Honourable warrior; valiant knight
Martlet (footless swallow): signifies one who has to subsist by virtue and merit, not inheritance

WOW! I love it! Great work!

Agreed, this is wonderful work--but the swallow, although it meaning-wise fits with the HOBOKNIGHTS, is not as overt as we might like.  Can you replace it with a HOBOCABBAGE?  Thanks so much.

The other Hoboknights may not agree, but I'd also like to see our standard have a rather tattered and worn appearance to better fit the whole HOBO aesthetic.  Would it be too much trouble to bust out a quick cabbage-featuring alternate, maybe using the M&B rectangular banners as a template instead of a shield?  I'd be much obliged.

Timothy could you make our clan one? We definitely want the Southern Cross as the dominating feature in the heraldry, with some sort of background pattern. Keep it simple.

Umm, sorry, but we are looking for a banner with the Southern Cross in it, not a cross. Also, it looks kinda ugly. Sorry.

Anyway:
The Southern Cross (Officially "Crux") is a constellation seen in the southern hemisphere and features on the Australian flag and coat of arms. As well as those of New Zealand, Brazil, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.

The four major stars are supposed to represent (at least in Australia) the four cardinal virtues.

In Australia it's also known as a symbol of the Eureka Stockade a mining rebellion that was brutally put down by British soldiers and police in 1854, but resulted in significant democratic reforms due to the public out cry and general support for the miners.

I couldn't find out what cabbage stands for in heraldry, unfortunately. The torn banner can be implemented in-game, as I put an alpha channel on it. It will look torn in-game as well. As for the shields, the larger one isn't mandatory to use in any way, but the smaller one is designed to go into signatures. If I were to make the banner small enough to fit into a sig, it would be so small that you couldn't make out the details.
