Timothy the Knight
Sergeant Knight at Arms

So I'm sort of a hobbyist designer of heraldry, and since there seem to be clans cropping up everywhere, I've decided to set up shop for making coats of arms for all of them.
Some of you might remember my suggestion regarding an in-game heraldry system. If the system I suggested goes through, we won't need separate files for the heraldry and most folks would find it accessible enough to make their own with no problem. But just in case that they decide to have separate files for heraldry, I'm going to start making some for clans at first, then once we have a bit more information on what kind of system's gonna be used, perhaps for individuals as well. Besides, even if they are gonna put an in-game designer to the game, this will be a good bit of practice for it, not to mention giving the early clans an idea of what they want on their banner.
Of course, there's already this thread, but the one here is specifically for warband clans.
Now, heraldry is more than just fancy patterns and colours on a shield. Each of those patterns and colours holds a symbolic meaning, one that might not be instantly evident. If you design a heraldry based solely upon how cool it looks, you could very well end up with something that goes entirely against your ideas symbolically. There's also all sorts of little rules and nunaces concerning how heraldry should be done properly. Of course, rules are made to be broken, and there are many examples of heraldry that don't follow them.
So that's where I come in. I've read up a bit on all these rules, and how to make a proper looking coat of arms. So, I'm yours to employ in that regard. But you could always try your own hand at it, too, if that takes your fancy.
Here's a good list of what everything on a coat of arms means. Use that to come up with a design that reflects your clan's ideals and way of doing things. After you've done that, you can either try making the heraldry yourself with this nifty little tool, or you can post the stuff you want on the coat of arms and let me do the work.
Regardless of wether you do it yourself or not, you'll want to have me make a version compatible with M&B, as well as a version suitable for a signature, like the one in mine. Unless, of course, you've got the photoshop skills and graphical resources needed to do it yourself.
Also, to anyone else feeling like doing some of the work, feel free to do some of the designing yourself. I'm not whoring the position of master herald here, and I'd be glad if someone takes a bit of the workload off my shoulders.
So, clans (and later on individuals, perhaps), post your requests here and be endowed with a mark that reflects what you stand for and what you do, not to mention one that everyone will easily understand and recognize.
