With its single battle and team battle systems, Tiger Knight: Empire War brings you back to the brutal era of melee wars.

The game is set in the biggest empires in 200 AD: the Han Dynasty, the Roman Empire, the Kushan Empire and the Parthian Empire. Play as the General in one of these empires. Lead your own soldiers. Win the war with skills, strategies and cooperation.

Tiger Knight uses the optimized Unreal3 engine, as well as the PhysX physical engine, Hair Works hair dying skills and advanced action motion capture skills so that every element of Tiger Knight restores the true history. Mount & Blade + Dynasty Warriors with a World of Tanks progression model. It's kinda clunky, balance is laughably bad right now, US servers just got moved to the west coast yesterday (so if you're east GLHF), more than half of the players just spam and never block (even when they have a shield, what is RMB?), charge attacks are kinda silly, but really it has potential and could go places pretty soon.

I really haven't played it very much, but that was my first impression. I've also heard from a couple other folks that there's a lot of attack spam.
Still, I like it.

I'd say outside of the team deathmatch mode 90% of the players you find will just spam non-stop. In team deathmatch, probably more like 75-80%.

To be fair, there's nothing else you can do with a gladius. It's got two attack directions and isn't long enough to do anything at all unless you constantly face hug and spam before they can swing a polearm.

Very, very, very few people use that. Most players use a pike or other long polearm and a one-handed sword+shield. Some players use axes instead of swords, some use two-handed variants, but their playstyles are almost all the same. They spam their pikes until you close the distance, then they swap to their backup weapon of choice and spam that until one of you dies. This accurately describes most players. The only players I've met that even attempt to block (whether or not they're good at it varies) have come from Warband.

We'll see how well they work with the update that just rolled out a few minutes ago. Supposedly they're decreasing the damage pikes do below their effective range and increasing the time it takes to swap to another weapon when you have a pike in hand.

I'm keeping my gladius until the Romans release so I don't waste ingame money on something I'll only use until the update. Some of their longer swords sound better.

It's not like in-game currency is difficult to acquire. Even the premium currency is easily earned (up to a certain amount) through achievements. Seems like an odd position to take, but then you wouldn't be the first diehard Roman enthusiast I've seen in the game.

Well, I'm not really playing it much at all until Rome comes out anyway. Not that I don't enjoy what's there already, just I figure I'll wait until the update before I start playing the game for any length of time.

Countering spam should be easy for us warband gods, marnid, except for the 1handed spam, which is even for me hard to deal with  2 handed swords are the way to go people!

World of Tanks + Warband = This game.

Tbh this is really fun xD I really hope they add some sort of multiplayer progression to Bannerlord, entirely optional ofc. Commanding an army is really awesome, but the least popular mode in Warband mp.

Don't think that's what it is. The AI in this isn't any better. The difference is the minions are super weak and easy to kill which makes fighting a bunch of them bearable. In Warband they would just gang up on you and tear you to pieces.

Oh it's not hard at all, especially with the combo system in the game. It's just kinda boring to fight spammers all the time. I want to level Wu inf up to T5 for the 2h sword the sailors get, but I don't want to be another guy with sailors. Supposedly the balance patch was going to buff Shu infantry, which is good news for me 'cause I like the idea of them but not their performance.

Pro tip for fighting 1h spam if you're still having trouble with it is to use your kick/shield bash/axe hook ability (default button is Q) because it will hit them faster than any other attack - allowing you to interrupt their spam safely - and use one-handed combos. If you don't know how to do combos, it's actually very simple. Just left-click again the moment before your attack would connect. You also get to control the direction of your combo sequence for each swing, which is very important to remember because some 3rd swings restrict your movement. You don't have to hit something to combo, which makes for an interesting method of feinting as well (more like baiting, TBH). Against players that actually use their shields I'll sometimes throw an attack I know will miss so they lower their shield, and follow through with a combo. The second and third attacks of combos are faster than the first attack, so if you're facing someone that regularly uses combos your best bet is just to block. You cannot continue a combo after being blocked.

9 times out of 10 you're 100% correct. The other 1 time you get surrounded in a moshpit of swords and spears and helplessly die from dozens of their weak attacks.
