[TidBit] Yes. It happened. The "deflect projectile" perk works...

Of course, I never tried it myself. But I did witness it.

In the arena, a team fight situation. One of the friendly troops is armed with a 2h weapon.
From the opposite side, a javelin is thrown.

And... **THWACK!!** The friendly with the 2h weapon knocks the javelin away. I clearly witnessed both, (1) the javelin in flight one way, and (2) being bounced away in another direction at the same time the friendly swung the 2h sword. It was the most amazing and beautiful thing I saw in the game.

This means, the 2h perk works. It means any physical projectile thrown by a human, can be thwacked away.
...then this means, I can use a high 2h-skill to hit a homer against all the rocks looters will be throwing.
All I need now, is some sort of experimentation to see if the projectile deflected by a 2h weapon swing, can hit something else.

Now my new objective in BL is set: to be a Medieval Jedi.

(ps).. wait.. does this perk also mean you can block projectiles with a static block of 2h weapon? Probably not... hmmm..

Is this the 275 skill level perk? I thought the description said it only deflected arrows?

I haven't tried it yet as the alternate perk Two Handed Mastery seemed like the better choice.

The projectiles in Taleworlds games are simulated in physics, so it is theoretically possible, even though unlikely (much like real life) that you could strike a projectile in flight with a weapon.

The perk specifically refers to blocking, so deflecting it with an attack is probably unrelated to the perk.

Which means... it's possible with any weapon by default...?!!!!!@

Time to grind looters...

*disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for wastage of life attempting to reproduce such a phenomenon

I'm just speculating on an explanation for what you saw

But it makes sense. Clearly, there aren't NPCs with that much high level of 2h skill, and the friendly in the tournament -- I don't remember what he was, but his armor wasn't anything fancy and just a gambeson. So at this point, the possibility are either one of...

(1) I totally saw things wrong. It was some other coincidence that has a different explanation behind it
(2) All projectiles, can physically interact with all weapons once the weapon gains physical status as the attack is initiated

Now, (1) is admittedly a possibility. This can all just be a mistake.

But, (2) is not wacky as it seems when we really think about it.

1. From armor modding tests we already know that projectiles like arrows and thrown weapons are fully modeled into the game as a physical object that actually interacts with the player. Armor modded to very high defense does display the arrow coming in, striking armor, and then deflecting off after physical impact. So it's not like in some other games that just visually depict the results of the strike as an animation or anything. It's an actual physical model that flies, strikes object, and then penetrates or gets deflected.

2. We also know, that aside from a few exceptions like certain tree branches, leaves, grass and etc... all physical objects in the game, also interact with the weapon. They may not show the proper results like real life (shattering, breaking, etc), but when you swing a weapon against a tree, a wall, a pot, a table, they all interact and strikes those objects physically. Rock surfaces even give out sparks.

3. As said in 1, projectiles are also all physical. So if we shoot or throw projectiles to those same objects, it also interacts physically. Hits wall and bounces off, hits tree and gets stuck, strikes ground and is stopped, etc.

THEN, IF 1, 2, 3 IS ALL TRUE, WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE HAPPENS IF THE WEAPONS, AS A PHYSICALLY INTERACTING OBJECT (2), MEETS A PROJECTILE, WHICH IS ALSO A PHYSICALLY INTERACTING OBJECT(1, 3)??

1. Weapon + Object = physical interaction
2. Projectile + Object = physical interaction
3.
Weapon + Projectile = ?????

I think the reasoning is sound, and my chances are actually pretty good. This is definitely worth testing. Weapons, projectiles, objects are all physical in the game.

If this is possible, will I be able to actually time the attack well enough to strike away an incoming looter's rock...????!!

I MUST find out.
