Recruit
Its really irritating having to constantly train up followers the way they develop at the moment, what I would like to see is something a bit like how units were handled in the warhammer games.
Thoughts / comments ?
- *A Unit of arbitary size is recruited in a town or in the wild, for example 5/5 peasants or 7/7 refugees.
- *They level up together rather than one at a time, and the unit is not lost unless every man is killed.
- *A Unit only heals a dead man if you are staying in a tavern, tavern costs increase proportionally to the number of men staying and the number of men lost (to model recruitment and basic training). Possibly you can only heal a unit if you can recruit the base type.
- *Units enter the battlefield in the order that they are in your party list, number of people from the unit based on tactics as per usual.
- *Possibly you could have a unit inventory / upgrade screen that would let you view the gear for a unit as a whole.
- *Add a new trader type big cities, an outfitter who would handle purchases for the unit as a whole. (e.g. 5 swords 5 hammers 5 lances 5 chargers). Weapon types could be more generic for units to allow for multiple types on screen so we don't loose the rather pleasing asthetic effect.
Increase the ammount of experience required to upgrade a unit by quite a bit to make gear purchases more relevant.
