Because the AI does not handle grenades well. It tends to throw them everywhere including at it's own troops. It was tried in Gabrilduro's mods with spectacularly bad results ( or hilarious depending upon your point of view).
Look we've no interest in resuming work on this, for the present, so please stop badgering us about this mod.
