Hey, TW, can we have another set of commands for our army called "Prioritise", subsections being: Any, Infantry, Archers, Cavalry, etc. ...

I am tired of my entire shield wall being turned around by the ****ing 2 cav the enemy has, or my archers being shot to pieces because they're shooting at the enemy shield wall instead of prioritising counter-archery.

Maybe I'm having a stroke but I recall in VC I could set one formation to engage another. Like I could say Infantry, go attack their infantry, and the AI would then proceed maintaining shieldwall formation, and then I could say Cavalry, go engage their archers.

I feel like the building blocks of this are there since when I just hit F6 the AI sergeants kind of act similarly, but I can't micromanage with that level of control. Maybe I'm dumb and bad at commanding, but that's been my experience and its odd.

It feels like another example of TW having most of the pieces there but not really putting them together coherently.

For now, trick is to place your infantry in a shield wall closest to the enemy but at a different angle than your archers, so as they advance on your infantry they have to choose between using their shields to block the Infantry or the Arrows, they can't block both.

As for dealing with enemy archers, that's what you and your Calvary are good for, have them follow you and proceed to harass the hell out of them.

Oh, I know how to work around the system's limitations... it would just be nice to have that option as a QOL improvement.
