Sergeant at Arms
Hey,

I've gotten into the knack recently for creating edited M&B:W movies and since AD 1257 is possibly my favourite mod (I haven't touched native in months) I decided what better engine to use when I wanted to start my machinima. For those that don't know a Machinima is an animated series using a game engine to tell the story. I have given credit to Othr for making this beautiful mod and have not claimed anything but my own voice as product created by me. This is simply a project I've wanted to do for a long time and AD 1257 happened to be the perfect choice.

So, without further adieu, I present: This Notched and Rusted Blade.

Sweet... I saw Part 2 as well, its growing to something Epic, its like i am watching an awesome Medieval Movie. Waiting for part 3 .

PS: The background music is a little bit loud and sometimes overlaps with the narration in Part 2.

Wow, thanks guys!

Part three should be up sometime either tonight or tomorrow. It's chock full of battle so theres something to look forward to!

really ,you got some storytelling skills and i am proud you chose our mod

I know I am taking the piss here, but why didn't you use a newly created scene? You chose ad1257 and used more of native than is necessary. And most importantyl I can hardly understand you, because you're voice is too quiet and unarticulated. Disabling the hp bar and the rest of the hud would have been a good idea too. Right now, it is obvious that a game was used and it is hard to immerse yourself in the story.

I'm not going to take offense to that.

I understand a lot of your view points and I agree with most of them, yet I will explain myself. The HP bar was an oversight, something that didn't bother me initially, after two episodes it has so I've acquired an editing suite to sharpen and crop the image without detracting from the over all experience.

As for my voice being too quiet and unarticulated, well, that's something you'll have to deal with. The voice quality on the play back is fine by my hearing and for a lot of other people too. As for being unarticulated, its a point of view story about a peasant born farmers son in the countryside of England in the 12th century. He's not going to use fancy words, nor is he going to pretend to be someone else.

Yes, I chose AD1257 because despite some bugs I enjoy it more than the vanilla game and other mods. It may show a lot of 'Native' scenes in the first few episodes because it is a progressive story. Starting off in England where those are the scenes depicted in the videos from the mod, none of it was shot in the actual Native game. When it progresses it'll pass through France, then Italy and onto the Holy Land. You'll get your new scenes.

Hope that helps to put some more insight into the series for you.

Ahh, I took a rather long hiatus from the TaleWorlds Forum and have only recently been able to get back into gaming. I was using the tools available to me. I am now, however, getting a hold of the SVN version. Thank you for the help.

Sterling work, definitely watchable.
A minor suggestion I would make is to use the in-game edit mode. That way you can move the camera around all over the place and make it a bit more "cinematic".
Anyway, good luck with it all.

Here it is, Episode 3 of TNARB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaLpTtctuH4

From Episode 4 onwards I'll be using the SVN version so hopefully all will be happy with the fact I'm no longer using outdated work.

EDIT: The SVN version is working all fine and dandy, great work. I'm quite new to most of this stuff, is there any console commands to remove the health bar? Remove the mini map and the shot distance counter/misc info in the bottom left? It'll be an immense help to me if there is.

Wow. Truly impresive work! Perhaps we should sticky this?

Thanks for the help, but that mod doesn't seem to want to play nice and the command flow in the first thread won't remove the HUD in svnAD1257 for some reason. I'll have a deeper look into it when I have the time, but thankyou.

@Thread.

I'm glad you all enjoy these! I enjoy making them immensely. Unfortunately episode 4 won't be up for about two weeks at the least as I have my brothers stag do to attend before he gets married and that means flying out to spain. So, sorry Ritter Dummbatz, hehe, your gonna have to wait for parts 4 - 10.
