Well, I for one find that "clothes apartheid" completely ridiculous. And the whole "you've got to have that image". It's ****ing childish, I'm sorry (that's why I absolutely HATE black metal for example). What matters is the music, everything should be unimportant.
The "feel" of the band should be in the music and lyrics, not in dressing like a gay rapist in San Francisco in the 80s or like some children book's illustration of a monster.

Edit: oh and if you've bought the Iron's latest, look at their pictures as simple as you can get, the music matters, the rest is ****

Anyone can act like a *insert appropriate description here*, but it takes great musicians to express their feelings/emotions/attitudes through the music itself.  Right?

They wear what they wish and don't give a **** if someone says korpsepaint/leatherthong is childish or something. They just want to kick ass and all that... and of course it's the music that counts. I don't even care if the people I listen to are complete assholes.

Ilex: I agree with you, but I'm getting old and belong to another generation of metal, I guess. I just look at most black metal bands for example, and find them absolutely ridiculous (same with hair "metal"). Tastes, I guess.

Edit: and for the record, I find early Manowar's "Conan like" dressing laughable, but I absolutely love their music. Again, personal tastes, I guess.
