No one. Just every couple of years we get to either reelect them or elect someone with almost the exact same views as them.
You telling me lobbyists have no influence? Cause I'm telling you a bit of good old fashion greece behind the the wheels of politics does more than 50% of Americans or congress put together in terms of deciding policies.
Now I know what your thinking: Rejenorst don't be absurd you crazy drugged out ass merchant!
But bear with me while I rip your little world asunder into a magical frost cake.
Money=power! And for a government that doesn't own its own monetary system (the federal reserve which is privatized) the power lies with those who have the cash to get **** done.
I'm not talking conspiracy btw just the nature of money.

The healthcare reform was passed, and if the Senate pass their side of the bill, the USA will have taken a significant step towards social equality, not just in their own country but as an example for the entire world.

Never going to pass the Senate. It can win with the votes of the mob, but it won't win with equal representation.
Except that the Senate is the most unequal part of Congress, so I don't know where you're pulling that out of your ass.
Mage246 说:As yes, the states. Those entities with randomly drawn borders, widely disparate population numbers, vastly different economies, and so on and so forth. Clearly the fairest possible means of representation is to put all 50 of them into a room and give them each the same number of votes. Equal number of votes does not mean that they are in truth equal. Rhode Island, for example, which is a state so small that it really encompasses only a single *island*, gets the same number of Senate votes as California, a state with an economy so large that it dwarfs that of almost every country in the world (if it was its own country, it would have the 10th largest economy!).
RalliX 说:Never thought I would hear those things from him....unless I need to be more cynical. I guess I do, but I still don't like the way the U.S. is changing, and I probably care because I'm Canadian, we share the single longest border in the world with them.Seff 说:That's actually quite an astute observation.
1st: If you can't partake in a discussion without insulting, then don't. I don't like myself when I insult people, it's not nice. The Mercenary 说:I'm assuming you have a full brain between the three of you?
2nd: You seem to assume that I want democrats to rule America - I don't give a ****, I don't live there, and I most likely never will. My view is that the American system isn't as democratic as it's advertised to be (even if this means republicans would be in power), and I can see the irony of this.

Yeah, but who counts Alaska as anything but a vacation home for Polar Bears?Mage246 说:Well, that's odd. Since there's 2 borders actually. One between the lower 48 and Canada, and one between Alaska and Canada.
