****ty apartment?! That apartment rocks, she just hasn't used the space correctly and her furniture sucks. It's in a good part of town.

I wouldn't know, I guess.

I live in a small town in low income housing, so I guess I shouldn't pass judgments on apartments considering I don't know that much about them. What part of Stockholm is she in that makes it so great?

"sorry, videos are not available in your country"

NOOOO! How can I watch Jon Stewart now!

She lives in Liljeholmen, which is quite central.

FrisianDude: Not quite. Tyranny of the majority applies in this case, at least in my eyes; the majority (actually, in this case a supermajority) of the representatives of America ignored the majority of America.
Oh, so. Thanks, I didn't really understand it that way.
The Mercenary 说:
Tyranny of the majority does not always apply, and nor would anyone with half a brain pounce on every vote and declare the winning side to be tyrannical. Intentional misunderstanding and false extrapolation of and on a comment is not a proper way to conduct an argument.
I didn't misunderstand intentionally and I'm not sure I did the other thing either. :???:

Yes, better they ignore 48% of America rather than 52% of America, because it's not like any of those people are ever going to change their minds, right? I'd venture to guess that the average congressman and their staff is more knowledgeable about the bill than almost any American, but sure go with the slimmest of majorities anyway. Even though most of them don't know what the hell they're talking about anyway, and have been brainwashed to believe this is some sort of trapdoor to turn America socialist. Yeah, let's do what those guys want, because after all they're the *real* America, right?

Exactly. We pay these people to be informed. They spend their careers learning about the intricacies of politics, (in essence) return to their ridings and ask 'What do you think I should aim for this term?' It may not sound ideal, but they are more informed than your malleable citizenry.

That's actually quite an astute observation.

I'm assuming you have a full brain between the three of you?
1st: If you can't partake in a discussion without insulting, then don't. I don't like myself when I insult people, it's not nice.

2nd: You seem to assume that I want democrats to rule America - I don't give a ****, I don't live there, and I most likely never will. My view is that the American system isn't as democratic as it's advertised to be (even if this means republicans would be in power), and I can see the irony of this.

The Mercenary 说:
Also, the federal republic's lasted five times as long as Stalinist communism did and ten times as long as Maoist communism has. Sure, it ain't perfect, but no government is perfect, as anyone with half a brain knows. I'm assuming you have a full brain between the three of you?

So are you criticising your system or defending it? It's not democratic enough, but it's a good system that lasts! Make up your mind.

Never thought I would hear those things from him....unless I need to be more cynical. I guess I do, but I still don't like the way the U.S. is changing, and I probably care because I'm Canadian, we share the single longest border in the world with them.
