It is the end of the world, Jhess.
I don't think it's a coincidence that 2012, the year the world ends, is the year that Obama is up for re-election, or that December, the month in which the electoral college convenes and announces its decision, is the month in which the world ends.
DO YOU?!
But in all seriousness, yeah, I do believe that the healthcare system needed an overhaul, with some changes made for patient's rights and to control the accessibility of healthcare. I do not believe that Obama care is the way to do it. He's now got his government insurance provider, he's pushing for a bill to allow seizure of failing banks by the government, and he's doing a very good job of having words and deeds not match up. Yes, FOX news is kind of ****. So are some of the liberal networks. A better conservative site is http://www.drudgereport.com/ but it is still conservative, and has conservative slants.
rej/Seff/CA: It ain't democratic. It's a republic. Republic. And this case would be called tyranny of the majority. That is, with a majority in both houses of Congress and the White House, the Democrats can force whatever bills they want through; Republicans can't even filibuster. And the Democrats are losing their appeal to the American public. Just this month, in 2009 elections, nothing really major happened - it was all on a local scale - but swing states voted Republican on the local level. No state elections or national elections, but crucial areas voted Republican. The "Democratic" method of having the elected officials ignore the wills of their constituents is going to have repercussions for the Democrats.
Also, the federal republic's lasted five times as long as Stalinist communism did and ten times as long as Maoist communism has. Sure, it ain't perfect, but no government is perfect, as anyone with half a brain knows. I'm assuming you have a full brain between the three of you?
