think we could kludge in siege gear?

well, i noticed that we can now make props appear/disappear, and it looks like we can do so during a battle (not sure)
if so, could we do something like this?

ballistae
a prop ballistae shows up a short distance from the gatehouse, when the player goes within 5 feet of it, it sets off a trigger, which causes the gate prop to disappear

tower
have a whole bunch of siege tower props from one place away from the wall to the wall itself
when the 4 attackers are near one, it vanishes and the next appears till it reaches the wall


or at a minimum, a sally
set a bunch of knights on horseback just behind the gate, after something like 60 seconds into the fight, the gate vanishes, allowing the knights to ride out to attack
or better than a timer would be to count how many attackers are alive, and when it is equal to the number of knights, the gate vanishes and they charge


only thing i haven't tested is whether you can change props midfight, if that is possible, the rest should be
(probably will lag like hell though)
 
How about a scene where the battering ram is pre-placed in the right location. Regular bangcrash battering sounds every 10 seconds. After 3 minutes, the gate object is removed with a loud bangcrash sound.
 
also, would have to create some variable or something to keep track of whether the gate has been destroyed, dont want it fixed after every round

I am afraid that's not possible at the moment. But I am planning to add more poweful operations in the upcoming versions.
 
If you can mesh siege gear, I know how to get it in game sensibly:
out of game
create a town
call it "siege train"
ingame, edit in all the items you want so that you have a representation of a siege train moving through Calradia to it's target.
out of game
UNCHECK the static box.
change the menu option to menu start game or menu join battle
add an escort for the machines, and its all yours!
As an added spice, you can create a new troop type, CHECK unkillable, call him 'convoy commander' or such, and then later you can attach a quest, capture convoy commander...
