Things that piss me off (1.38)

1) "Fake Attack" - enemy lord with much larger army attacks me in the field.  What do they do?  Stand on some field and never actually charge me.  Then I press "tab" to retreat (because pointless for me to charge them), my party loses a ton of morale, and the very next thing that happens?  I fall into enemy ambush.

2) Caravan Raids - always the same map with giant tree that fell down and is buggy as hell, as troops fight under it. Also, I'm pretty sure not my entire army is brought into fight.

3) Rescue village from bandits mission - only a few of my troops come to fight

That can be taken care off.
Never had troops stuck under the fallen tree, but it sure is annoying  :smile:
 
Another thing - There's a quest where I have to go and kill some guy in Llan Heledd (given to my by Crafu king I believe).  I went there and could not find the guy, any idea?

Search more, if he was said to be there, he is there.

I have also had problems finding some dudes during wanted quests in villages,
but always found them sooner or later.
Some villages are big, and you may have to ride over a river, and find the fugitive hiding behind
a mill or a hut. If the village is not an Air-borne village (bugged) I can assure you that you will
find him. :smile:
 
he is not in LanHeledd... his party is spawning on the map by Lan Heledd when you take the quest and than patroulling the whole area. Look for another gang with that Inau-Guy as trooper.
 
Here's another:

#4 Finally afforded a boat ($25k!) and went and found some Frankish raiders (on a boat).  My first sea battle ever, yay!  WTF.  Everyone spawns under water and everyone dies right away.  Really?

That sounds like a very disappointing bug :sad: Save/load?

Btw if you are having trouble with the "rescue villagers from bandits" quests, you probably have your battle size set fairly low, relative to the size of your army. It's not really a big deal, all the farmers and villagers are useful as cannon fodder I think.

Here are some tips to make these easier.

1) If you don't have any already, rescue 1x Peasant Woman and 1x Farmer from any random bandit party you see.  Create a new label for a troop class (use the last slot to avoid confusion later on).  Assign the Farmer and Peasant Woman to this troop class instead of their default "Archer".  At this point you don't need the Farmer and Peasant Woman anymore, feel free to dismiss them from your party.  When the battle starts select the last slot and tell them to charge.  Let them get slaughtered and your reinforcements wave should kick in with your own troops.  Adjust your Battle Size slider in Options as necessary.

2) Download and run TweakMB -> Select Tweak Database Brytenwalda 1.36 (seems to still work fine with 1.38 so far) -> Continue -> browse to Brytenwalda mod and select.  At the Module Loaded Successfully screen note:
Reinforcement waves - The value for standard battle attacker waves is the same value that will be used for defenders, as well as for village raids. The standard battle waves require a new game to go into effect.
Despite this we can still make some adjustments that help.

2A) Go to Towns/Villages -> Bandit Infestations.  Lower the multiplier for bandits spawned from 1.10 if you want less bandits in this mission.  I actually raised mine to 1.20 because I like a lot of squishy targets for my companions to level up on. :mrgreen:

2B) Lower the Minimum and Maximum Farmers spawned.  The less farmers/peasant women that spawn, the more of your troops will spawn instead.  This will also help you when you try to fight a lord that is attacking one of your villages.  If the fight triggers an "interrupted a raiding party" sequence you'll fight in the village and have the same issue of worthless farmers using up valuable troop slots.

Ah, yes. Thanks for reminding me. This due to differences in how I account army strength and how Native does. The next time AI gets updated, attackers ought not take defensive positions.

You need to kill one enemy troop and then they will charge. It's easy if you're on horseback and with a bow.
