Thats a very good idea, you should post that in the suggestion area.Another thing is if I hold a spear out in front of me and someone is stupid enough to walk or run into the pointy end of my spear, they should take damage based on how fast they were traveling when they hit it, on foot and on horseback. This would actually allow for the spear wall stance to be useful.
honestly this should be a default block stance for any weapon that can do thrust damage, you block and keep the weapon pointing forward, anyone dumb enough to come running or worse yet, running on a horse against you would impale himself and take damage based on the speed they were moving, this would allow for spearwalls to deter cavalry much better than a static brace option that don't allow you to move.Thats a very good idea, you should post that in the suggestion area.
Keeping mp and sp damage and weapon using separate you say. Wow that sounds like a great idea. That means TW has no interest in doing it.MP would cry if spears were good "but I can't hit him with my sword cuz his spear is longer and does too much damage". They should just make special everything for MP and let SP be good.
It's silly, it's also silly that very low damage will stop the horse magically from a spear too. I don't like how they cherry pick what things get gamey fake changes to achieve some effect.
Whenever it comes up, the devs make it clear that spears are meant to mostly anti-cav weapons and suck otherwise. Of course, they aren't even good anti-cav weapons for the most part.how the spear works is really not pleasuring
the slow/delay release, half griping, limited attack angle, bouncing attacks, just don't really think it is well designed

It is quite possible to create an effective inf vs inf spear combat without reducing the effectivness of cavalry(already questionable). It takes some serious rebalancing and lot more things to do. But I don't think they can do that after this point.Spear combat isn't intended for infantry vs infantry combat and all the adjustments comes to your mind for it to be viable in infantry combat would kill any small chance the cavalry have to be effective. It's clear why they went this way, still I think there's just a little bit of excess when it comes to minimum required space to the target for damage (without knockback).
If we're aiming for realism, then a horse coming at you at full gallop, well, good luck surviving that.
in alpha/closed beta the handling are actually decent and can compete with other weapon but some 60iq don't like it so tg took their advise and nerfed it into oblivionGuys, sorry but your expectations are too much for this company.

Because it was absolutly horrible ? Instant damage dealing without having a visual cue to react to it, do you really think thats good gameplay?in alpha/closed beta the handling are actually decent and can compete with other weapon but some 60iq don't like it so tg took their advise and nerfed it into oblivion
"Would?"MP would cry if spears were good "but I can't hit him with my sword cuz his spear is longer and does too much damage".
Privileged multiplayer gamer running his MOUTH. But yeah, there needs to be a balance between spears not being dog and them dealing instant damage. I think the problem is that the game can't really model zones of control. If someone is using a spear and a swordsman get within 20 centimetres of them then they're boned. The trick was to stab them before they got that close, and to keep them at a distance. I don't see how spears could do that in this system.Because it was absolutly horrible ?
