The whole ‘whine situation’ and a general community health analysis

Not sure why you are LOLing. Its a straw man because none of the discussed features affect balance or stability.
Let me restate what I said originally in simpler terms. TW has a lot of things to deal with than making 1 addition to the game this is why they can't address single issues like modders can. Is that plain enough?

The original argument was, Cheering is one of the best new features added to the game.

I argued that cheering was, in my opinion, the only new thing added to the new game in recent patches.

The counter argument was, other features such as New main storyline content, world map conversation screens, and choosing your troops to raid hideouts is also new content added in recent patches.

I argued, beside the new main storyline stuff, those new features had mod support within a week of release. Thus, not impressive.

Its a straw man because none of those features affect balance or stability.

Again you are assuming none of those items have ANY effect on stability or are tied into other matters that need calibrating. It is no straw man argument - im always wary of people that throw out that term to immediately discredit another opinion -a common internet tactic. I do know for a fact as a lifelong modder, its much easier for us then for Devs to pull even the smallest card from a card house.

But they did so with Cheering. So your point is invalidated from the original argument. Please try again though.

I'll just agree to disagree I guess, so we can move past it. To me its a straw man because the features we were discussing don't affect balance or stability and therefore, bringing that argument into the conversation, is a straw man. Lets get back to the OP though.

I agree there are minimal improvements; but also lots of step backwards - (Companions, fiefs types/management, etc). My point is - AFTER ALL THIS TIME, this is what they developed - minimal improvements to Warband? Its just a huge missed opportunity in my opinion.
I understand your disappointment (even though you are probably partly to blame for having unrealistic expectations).
Personally I just expected an improved Warband and if I am lucky that's what we will get after early access.

Lol getting back to the OP, you are exactly who he is talking about. Which honestly makes this post poetic

It is absolutely NOT unrealistic expectations to expect Bannerlord to include and improve upon features from Warband, and to add new features properly implemented with more intelligent AI, considering the game has been in development for AN ENTIRE DECADE and released in 2020, with tools available to developers that weren't there back in the 2000s.

Fair enough. And in spite of my own argument am still pretty shocked they let so many quality of life bugs through like the formations not saving bug as well as the mod list not saving bug. I guess we all have our own private gripes which seem major to one of us but trivial to others. Such is sandbox life gangstas..

Formation saving bug got fixed in 1.4.3, right (at least for me)? Mod list saving hopefully will get fixed once they release moding tools and start to "support" modding further.

There's alot of people who can't even play 1.4.3, such as myself.

Not that I want to, the game barely has any content to play, but just saying. When Taleworld "fixes" one problem, they introduce two new ones; one minor, one major.

We will revisit this in a few months when you tire of defending the indefensible.
Fat chance, I may be one of the few who didn't overhype bannerlord to myself during the wait. I personally got exactly what i was expecting when I purchased Early Access and even more as I personally have been able to shape the game through reporting bugs and suggestions on gameplay mechanics. The reason taleworlds listened to me? I actually test out the game and provide detailed reports in the correct forum locations without making it an attack on why its broken and needs fixing. Of course its not finished yet, no one has said it doesn't have a way to go before release, but holy **** the progress in the past few months has been outstanding.

You are still having that bug? I thought the most recent hotfix fixed it https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...-version-1-4-2-everything-works.427894/page-8

Oops! We ran into some problems.

In any case, thanks for the link but no need, I don't intend to play Bannerlord anytime soon. I highly doubt Taleworlds is capable of delivering what is needed, despite being handed a list of everything they need to do on a silver platter.

LOL. Wait, so what is it exactly that you personally have shaped into the game?

Also, "but holy **** the progress in the past few months has been outstanding". That's your opinion, and its certainly not a demonstrable fact.

As far I know, you should be able to play now. If not, you maybe should post in techsupport subforum. What error are you getting?

Try it now, some reason the link included the question mark i threw on the end.

An improved Warband with new features and better AI is probably what we get at full release. It's almost there after all. So no, these aren't unrealistic expectations.

Don't buy early access games.

In the development roadmap, there's no mention of implementation of new features, only polishing existing features/bugfixing.

I usually don't. But the problem here is not people "buying early access and expecting full release", the problem here is that even the most minimal expectations of a game that has been in development for 10 years aren't being met. And that on top of that, Taleworlds is not communicating to us that they will be attempting to remedy the situation by working on and adding the absolutely crucial missing features in Bannerlord, instead they focus on spear bracing for multiplayer, "cheering" for singleplayer, and a non-functional succession and main story system.

I think the problem stems from the development being 10 years. What was the last game in development for this long that didn't have massive issues. It speaks to a larger problem at TW and that is a lack of management and direction. Truthfully I don't think we are getting a clear picture because there isn't one.
