If the mod is for your personal use, you are free to use the assets without asking for permission. If not, I guess you will not be able to use them because you will not get a permission from their creators who have been inactive for so long and probably will never appear again.

Thanks for the reply, it's a brilliant mod with tons of great models, but it's too bad the author never shows up again. I can only try to find if there are references to other people's models in this mod that allow free use...

This is not a mod for Warband, but the original game. costumes_a.brf is an old file not included in Warband.

There is a way to force some/most classic mods to work in Warband by following this thread, but it does still require costumes_a.brf, so you will need the original game.
