Hai guys, I have a book called the Waterloo Companion which, as the name suggests, is an encyclopaedia of Waterloo and the 'technical' bits of it.

It has some pretty good drawings of uniform and weapons for ALL units at waterloo and has pretty  much every piece of info you could want. I was wondering if the mod devs need any info or anything that they can't find anywhere else? If it has something useful then it would be a shame to waste it, other wise just tell me to bugger off and I shall. ^^

Thank you very much for you readiness to help  No need to scan anything though, I have both Waterloo and Trafalgar Companion, and Gettisburg Companion will be passed to me within a few weeks  The former two are the best napoleonic books I've ever had exept for Napoleon's army by Oleg Sokolov.

Could you perhaps scan some pages, and upload them as a spoiler here?

im pretty sure thats illegal
Like anybody else than the publishers care of some pages from a book being scanned and posted on a forum

Yes I did. But you gotta take into account the fact that they won't find out and probably won't bother to do anything if pages from a book are scanned and posted on a forum a lot of people haven't heard about. The pages are gonna be read and not used in any way in the game so it wouldn't appear in the mod or some **** that would result in the devs getting sued. So all's fine, it would be even better if he would just PM the scanned pages, that way there would be no problem.
Also who are you talking about by "they", the publishers of the book? Cause if you meant that then I said that the publishers are the only ones who would care of this.

They can't take away our RIGHTS to see PAGES of a BOOK it's about FREEDOM FOR SPARTAN POWER?!!!!!!!!???!

Just post everything you want up and get free music and illegal games, don't make them richer!

books are for sharing, also how old is this book? maybe the author has died and copyright no longer exists?

Also. if clans or anything want the 'actual' tactics etc then it has pretty detailed explanations of what they did.

Ill scan some pages at school tomorrow. A few maps, drawings etc. Maybe I'll send the author an Email and ask if it's ok, it's a pretty new book.

EDIT; It's 300+ pages so specific things would make it easier, and cheaper

I find it quite funny you think the laws of copyright work rather untangably. Copying pages IS illegal, otherwise you could take a book copy the hell out of it and give it a slight different title and hand it out as your own.

Copying the pages would be illegal, handing the title of the book is not.

Here's the contents page so I know what people might want. Just post any you are interested in:

Actually under the laws of Copy Right in most cases it would be legal to scan a page or two under the *mind blank* use legislation.

However only litterally a Page or Two, so no, you couldn't upload the whole book
