Thank you Highelf! For the Fantasy Mod, and for releasing these tutorials! I have a great resource of weapons from all over the world (some I've never even imagined), and now I feel like I can participate in the modding community! Now to get back to work on my falcatta.

Thank you, Highelf for this tutorial.  I've been following your video tutorials (sort of, I watched the tutorials in this order:  basic, uv mapping and texturing, helmet, sword and shield).  I've been learning a lot.

I got my first sword in-game on my personal mod. (gave it similar stats to a bastard sword, except more cut, less thrust, and heavier).

however, I encountered a problem.  When I import a head from M&B, the face is aligned to the z axis, I think... it is sort of lying down face up rather than upright.

like this:

How do I import it in the upright position? (I tried searching the forum for an answer but couldn't get one... I probably could not phrase the search well)

Highelf, I rewatched your tutorials and figured this:

You hardly know anything of a sword...  :???: You keep calling the different parts "I don't know want its called"

The sword.

Kay.

This part is called the "Pommel"

oxxxxxxxx(-)zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz>

This part is called the "Hilt"

oxxxxxxxx(-)zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz>

This part is called the "Balance" (It's one name but there might be another. Don't know for sure)

oxxxxxxxx(-)zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz>

This part is called the "Blade"

oxxxxxxxx(-)zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz>

Part of the blade but sometimes called separately with the name "Tip"

Oh, And sorry for the crappy swords, had to change some things in order for the BOLT to be visible...

Highelf:

Als je geen middel-muisknop hebt, hoe draai je dan rond?

When you have no middle mouse-button, how'd you rotate then?

Those are great video tutorials, I'm hooked with them, also the Photoshop knowledge came handy!!! The helmet, shield, and sword were nice but mostly the helmet tutorials were amazing. The sound, clarity, and speed are great and of course very important for tutorials, got an A+!!!

Would like to see a video tutorial like this:  HOW TO ADD AN ITEM TO MOUNT&BLADE FROM SCRATCH

For example:

First creating the mesh with Wings 3D, then painting the UV mapping ("name"_auv) in Photoshop (or any program), After that creating the .dds file with DDS Converter (or any program) and putting it into the Textures folder on the Mod, Then Exporting the mesh from Wings 3D, Then with BRF editor (or any program) creating the "material", "texture", and importing the mesh that was exported from Wings 3d into BRF editor and export it into a ".brf" file ("my_new_weapon" or mesh) and putting all 3 into the Resource file in the Mod folder. (material, texture and mesh). Well after that editing the module.txt folder inside the Mod folder by adding the scan_module_textures = 1, and adding the "load_resourse = "name"  that are needed. Then editing the module_system folder with Python (the module_info, module_item, and module_troops) and checking the build_module (for making sure of no errors). And at the end (if I not forgot something) loading the game and use the item in the game (for a nice and impacting finish!!!!!). (May be one sword, helmet, or shield)

That's an idea for your next video, what you think?
Keep it up dude!

The sword.
That's not really correct, but nm. What you call the balance is usually called the crossguard, and what you call the hilt is usually the grip. The hilt is everything that isn't the blade.
As for the tutorials, I think they're excellent. I can't really apply the part of the tutorial that I was interested in, because GIMP is pretty much a crap graphics program, doesn't really compare to Photoshop, but I'll get over it.

WOW!! I love your tutorials, they were so cool! Ive made a helmet and i think its amazing in my little world but.......... in reality its probably pretty crap, but anyway,
thanks

Thanks Highelf your tutorials have helped a lot.

Your English is perfectly understandable!

I eagerly await any more tutorials!

-Cheers, Strat

Downloading them right now, but wanted to say thanks in advance...
I tried some tutorials that were plastered on the net, like making a wineglass and such, but never really got the hang of it.
I bet when someone really explains how it all works, it'll be a lot easier to get the hang of it.

So, thanks in advance

Thanks Highelf!  These really helped me to get my bearings in wings...and the photoshop texturing tricks were great.  Keep up the good work!
