I tried reinstalling, redownloading, putting it in different folders (as though that would help), to see if it would work, and it doesn't. Any idea why?

This error is typically caused by either not having the .NET framework installed or having the wrong verion installed. You need the .NET 2.0 Framework.

uninstall .NET framework beta and download the proper release version of .NET framework from microsoft. i had the same problem and it fixed it.

How can I make this more obvious in the editor thread? This seems to happen quite often and it would be nice if it didn't. I've put all the information there, but it seems to get missed by quite a few people. Maybe I need to add some red to the message...

Effidian, I'm sorry--I thought I had the latest version of .NET--when I went to install it after redownloading it last night, it said I already had it installed, so I assumed that wasn't the problem. Apparently it was, because I had the beta. Mah bad.

Me too.

Now I need to understand how to make Wings3d "Select."

hehe. I'm used to max and I haven't figured out how to do a damn thing in wings yet other than import/export.

Effidian, you may want try coloring key words in red. Like "BETA". And then for the release version one, put in parentheses and red "NOT BETA"

I've got red up there now, do you think that is clear enough?
