The Aiel call it the Three-fold Land: a shaping stone to make them, a testing ground to prove their worth and a punishment for their sin. In their tongue, Trollocs call it Djevik K'Shar, "The Dying Ground."
The Aiel War occurred when King Laman of Cairhien cut down the Avendoraldera tree, a gift from the Aiel. Four clans crossed the Dragonwall to punish him for this slight. They defeated any army sent against them, following Laman wherever he went. They took and burned Cairhien, and fought the Armies of Andor and Tear trying to punish Laman. The other nations united to fight back the Aiel Invaders, not realizing the Aiel were only there to punish LamanAgain the Aiel defeated every army sent against them, due to their superior fighting abilities and tactics. They drove the united armies back to Tar Valon, where the Battle of the Blood Snow took place. For 3 days the two armies clashed, when on the forth the Aiel suddenly withdrew. The united armies pursued them thinking they had won, meaning to drive them back into the Waste. In reality, the war ended when Laman was killed, at the Battle of the Shining Walls. The Aiel then returned to the Waste, not to return again until the coming of the Car'a'carn. But to the Cairhien, the war would never be forgotten, for years the nation built up its forces in preparation for an attack on the Aiel, for revenge and now as strange occurrences plague the land, they are ready, for an invasion into the Three Fold Land.
Three Fold Land is a total conversion mod set in Robert Jordans Wheel of Time series, and although the storyline of the mod doesn't follow the storyline of the books, its just a mod after all. You can take part as one of the Aiel fighting to repel the invaders from their barren land, a Cairhien fighting for revenge and glory, a Shaido fighting to rid the land of Wetlanders and those allied with the false Car'a'carn (Chief of Chiefs) or you can fight as a borderlander mercenary hired by the Cairhien to thicken up their ranks, some of the mercenary's are subsequently forgotten Malkier warriors, who have given up their dreams of reclaiming their homeland.

There are two Aiel Clans defending the Three Fold Land from the wetlanders, they are the Goshien and the Nakai Aiel, both have very similar troop tree's and fighting styles, the typical Aiel warrior is equipped with three spears, a buckler and a large belt knife, they wear no armor, instread relying on their superior agility and ferocity, some Aiel are also armed with a small short bow. The Aiel live in the Waste also known as the Three Fold Land, they are the only ones who know how to find water in their desert homeland, and can therefor move allot faster over the landscape, but they refuse to ride horses so their progress is slightly hindered by this.
Holds: Between them the Goshien and the Nakai Aiel have 6 Holds (3 each) and 10 Sept's (5 each)

The Shaido used to be part of the Aiel, but when Rand became the Car'a'carn they did not want to believe that an outsider could hold the greatest honor amongst their race, to make thinks worse, the Chief of the Shaido claimed that he was the Car'a'carn and Rand was an impostor, abandoning all honer the Shaido set about cleaning the land of all wetlanders and Rands Aiel. Casting off their former belefs some Shaido have even taken to using swords and small amounts of armor.
The Shaido have 3 Holds and 5 Septs.

The Cairhien have been preparing for a major offencive ever since the Aiel War where their homeland was decimated by the black veiled beasts. They march into the waste through the Jangai Pass, they carry all their water with them, which makes progress slow. The Cairhien army's consist of mainly levied villagers who fight for their lord more than their king, the lords levy the troops to gain favor and reputation, normally the different bands would be a rag-tag group of untrained peasants with little combat experience, but in preparation for the invasion all troops have been given extensive training and there is also a regular uniform.

Borderlanders Death is lighter than a feather, duty is heavier than a mountain.
The borderlanders, like the Aiel are trained to be warriors from their first steps, these resilliant warriors are heavily armored and suppled, they are probably one of the finest wetland army's. The Borderlanders have been hired by the Cairhien to thicken up the invasion ranks and supply military knowledge and training to the Cairhien armys. Among the borderland mercenary's are some of the fabled Malkieri warriors who lost their homeland to the blight years ago, they are the last of their race and have nothing to live for but the time at hand.
The Borderlanders have 3 Citys and 6 villages.
