Dark hunters/knights are all mounted fools, charging into packs of peasants and dying from stunlock. The dangerous ones are those axe using, longbow shooting, axe and javelin throwing sea raiders, I won't let my men near them until they have used up all their ammo, but everyone is easy if I play a lancer.

In hilly terrain the dark knights/hunters for sure. However if your fighting sea raiders on a flat plain your in for a hard time, dodging all those throwing axes and their longbows is no easy feat.

The thoughest battles I had were against Dark Hunters. I once entered a battle with a small army of 30 good units(vaegir veterans, horsemans and knigths) and, even though I won, I lost the whole army (only me, Borcha and Marnid survived). Those black khergit seen strong too, but I never had much trouble destroying then.

Those deserters are usually difficult too, specially de swadian ones. Never worried too much about bandits, they usually are easy to kill. But I guess that, among the bandit kinds (river pirates, forest and mountain bandits, sea raiders) mountain bandits are the hardest cause they are always in large numbers. Those "troublesome bandits" from the guests can be a bit hard too, since thay are also in large packs and are better equiped than most of the bandits.

The sea raiders, absolutely, the dark hunters would be a close second place, though. That's my pick because while I can usually beat other parties without losing a single troop, it's virtually impossible to do the same against sea raiders.

Sea raiders, hands down. Half of them have war bows (WAR BOWS!!) and the other half have big heavy throwing axes, and they seem much more prone to USING them than the other "baddies" for some reason. Their one downfall is they rarely have shields, so if you're a really sharp horse archer you can usually keep moving and deal punishment without receiving too much in return.

That's not to say the Black Knights/Dark Hunters are harmless: they're simply more manageable because they can't hit you from afar.

I never have much trouble with the Black Khergits: they just don't seem to be terribly good horse archers. Those javelins are painful though.

The bandits and other brigands come in big numbers so the battles tend to get a bit wearisome after a while, but they're pretty easy to herd if you're on horseback and just circle around lopping off heads...

I noticed some voted for forest bandits and mountain bandits.

Now I'm really curious why they think (in case they really think) they are harder than the sear raiders and dark hunters?

Numbers would not be a reason because there are parties of 40 dark knights + 40 dark hunters and huge parties of sea raiders as well.

Would those who voted for them state their motives?

All the NPCs except the Black Khergit riders are very simple. I don't know if the Mag 7 mod added difficulty to this NPC or not, but it is very hard to defeat exceedingly large parties of these units. ALL of them have horses and bows, which means that I normally get shot full of arrows after killing 20 or so riders. Or my horse gets shot out from under me, and I become a plated target dummy.

I voted Dark Hunters/Knights but a large group of sea riders is what hurts me the most. Those axe wielding devils are real tough cookies and harder to kill than Khergits, which are countered with cavalry, or Hunters who get creamed with infantry and pikes.

Khergit and Black Knights are all pretty dangerous but I'd have to give it to Sea Raiders. Those war bows and throwing axes do so much damage.

Rather, they're so easy that they're the hardest to keep your patience with and not charge naked with a sickle.

Sea Raiders are indeed a problem, but when you've got an all infantry army, you just charge ahead of everyone with a raised shield so that they change to melee weapons, and then you just circle them and try and keep them in a tight and close group so they don't whip out their doom-devices. When the 23 Vaegir guards arrive, everything's smooth as butta.

Black Khergits are not a threat to your well being but certainly to your sanity. Take the same army with only you on a horse and 23 melee units, then take a million idiots with bows and steeds who refuse to get near your infantry-swarm of death and who all have to be chased down one by one. GAH!

And river pirates rule all. End of argument.

I can mash through black khergits like.....Mashed potatoes.....

However, ANYONE with a ranged weapon is a problem to my two-hander. My people NEVER have shields...

Mountain Bandits are *ish* hard. Sea Raiders should be erased from existance. Everyone else is killable with the ease of sandpaper.

i just forgot to write khergit raiders.i think there is no reason to write river pirates  but i don't know if you are thinking river pirates are the strongest anyway in a poll you can only add 5 options so i learned it
