The Strokes?

I'm pretty confused right now. I have a friend who loves this band, and he let me listen. I've hated all alternative music up to this point. These guys actually are not bad. Especially the "Room on Fire" and "Is This It?" albums. Am I the only person who feels this way? When did "First Impressions of the Earth" come out, because it kind of sucks more than the other albums? Are there really only three albums out?

I absolutely love them, and appreciate all their albums equally.  Then again, I like most alternative rock and stuff, so.

And yes, I think those are the only albums they have out.

Hate all Alternative music? Pfft... a sin of sorts.
Well, I'm the type of guy who seeks information, but assumes until otherwise. Up until this point, I've never heard a band in said genre that was good. I mean, except Nirvana, I guess.

From the 30 minutes of them I heard whilst losing to my dad at Rome total War I'd say they're good. Actually, it was this guy's iPod that was playing them:

Nirvana is pretty awesome.

I never got to into the Strokes, though. I just have five of their hits.

They're awesome. Definitely in my top 3 favorite bands.

First impressions of Earth, I think (will check in a sec) in 2006, and they've been on hiatus since. But I think they're working on the fourth album now. And yes, they've only got 3 out. Although I thought FIoE had some really good tracks like Red Light and Juicebox. Room on Fire is the best though. 12:51 is my favorite song of all-time.

I'm not entirely sure yet if I like "Is This It?" more than "Room on Fire", or if I like them equally, but they're both excellent, and they bring some much needed variety into my playlist.

Despite me not being into that style of music, I agree with you CrazyEyes, I really like them. Haven't listened to them in a while, but I just like them. Nice and easy on the ears. I first got into them with "Reptilia", man, that song is awesome !

Reptilia, You Only Live Once, and Juicebox are all incredible songs.

Well, I don't think you have a positive outlook on life at all.

I think Electricityscape is one of my fave.

They've been around for 10 years or so now. And have yet to come up with a decent song or indeed a decent hair cut. Annoying ****ing fagrock by public school wannabe's.
Says the man with the multicolored mohawk.

Guess I'll go back to listening to only Motorhead and stoner rock, with the occasional jazz or Russian classical song thrown in. Thanks, Arch.

Really, though. I find just about every one of those songs in those two albums just dandy. Haven't felt this way about any other band before except Motorhead.
Hell, even Motorhead is different. They have many more songs that are good, but they're scattered across their 20+ albums. Of course, some of their albums have many more good songs than others (Overkill, Ace of Spades, etc) but just about all of them have at least one good song. These guys have two albums that are literally full of songs that I like to listen to.

Meh, I find a lot of the songs repetitive. Not saying I don't like them, they ARE easy listening, just that very few songs stand out. Still, I likes dem.
