I've noticed that nearby NPC's and horses no longer display dynamic shadows, lessening the demand on video memory.

Static and environment shadows are still being rendered at close range, and dynamic shadows (along with static and environment shadows) at longer range.

Does anyone agree with my observation?
 
I have noticed the rendering of the environment shadow being closer.
 
There could have been an option that allowed dynamic shadows to be rendered on nearby objects.

Even if the game runs more smoothly, I find it looking a tad bit lackluster.
 
I've said it before and will say it again, I'd rather play a game that's engrossing but lackluster, than a game that's boring with beautiful graphics.

That said, there are still battlefields and villages in M&B where I look around in rapture, happy to be part of Taleworlds's creation! And about environmental shadows, it really doesn't bother me when they're missing... in fact, shadows are the first thing I tend to turn off for performance reasons, most of the time.

I'm really in love with M&B's combat engine. I only wish there was a way to increase the blood levels :smile:
 
I think the 'no shadow' thing is actually a bug.

I've been fighting in the arena when I noticed that some NPCs have dynamic shadows, while some don't.

My shadow is set at Ultra High, by the way.
