Let's ****ing face it, children:  When you all grow up and get out into the real world, you will find that people swear lots.  At work, whilst driving, whilst copulating and even while enjoying a chilled beverage.  It's not necessarily offensive.

Sloppy (mis) use of your language; or your hosts' language; or your clients' language, however, will not be received well.

If Warband hits (and it likely will) Tale Worlds will likely have to formalize the forum.  There will be much stricter controls on language, references to sexual conquests (both in and out of your own gender), and genitalia;

Most unlikely. If going from a small beta game to getting a publisher and being sold in stores didn't tone down the swearing and connotations, I doubt getting multiplayer will.

I've never actually seen racist language on here but there will be a some requirement for that to be eliminated strictly enforced.

Racism is already a bannable offence. The only thing that'll get you banned faster is piracy. You can't really get more strictly enforced than that.

Enjoy this community while it lasts.  When it comes to represent a serious and emerging company it will be (rightly so) sanitized for our protection.

I doubt it. TW has gone from a husband-and-wife team to a published game development team. Questionable language is mostly kept to off-topic, not tolerated as greatly in the newbie/tech forums. Nothing overly much has changed in the last 5 years, and I doubt it will in the next 5. Besides, they'd have to get rid of half the board admins if they were getting rid of people who swear.

Fine whatever, Taleworlds will be totally unlike any and all other companies in the history of the internet.

I could give a flying drat!

Hmm... Well, I started in this forum with a poll... A POLL... and people didnt spam me like you said. Also polls usually get flamed around more than normal threads if they're bad. So, just make sure you make your first post smart!  :smile:.

P.S. Its not that such of a big deal now because I went on the Battleships forever forums and the first message I got was f*** you. Thank you very much.

Am I the only one who thinks of a super mutant transexual dance troupe when thinking of xmen?

If it weren't this forum I would never have found out that piece of history and many more

I only had to read the first line of his post before figuring out he was a recruit, and I dident even see that he was a recruit on his profile.

Good for you?

This is a bit like last nights thread started by Outlawed, which has magically disappeared, well this has a lot less flaming.

Ive been to many video game forums and message boards in my day and I must say that is is by far the rudest one I've ever been to. For starters. new people get constantly flamed and told to use the search button. In the time it takes to flame someone they could answer the persons question because I know that I find using the search button to be a real pain as I can never find what I'm looking for. Second of all is the way some people treat grammar and spelling. I'm all for using it but some people have better things to do then proofread all their posts. And My last and most important complaint is the incredible amount of unchecked swearing that goes on. Its in signatures and avatars and even the mods swear. I understand that we are responsible adults but thats all the more reason to use appropriate language.

Well thanks for taking the time to read this over. I'm not much of a poster and mostly like to just read so i thought I would post my observations.

I suggest you visit the Travian forums.
