The forum rules state that you should search for an older topic that could answer your question before posting, and that you should post in that thread instead of creating a new one. I've never understood why it is considered rude to let new people know that they should be following forum rules, and general forum etiquette. I always try to answer their question and remind them to use the search function.

I've never had a problem using the search function; it always works just fine. So if there is trouble, the problem isn't with the tool.

You'll just have to get used to the swearing. It won't go away. Most people aren't offended by it, and most people don't consider it generally inappropriate. Sure, there are occasions you shouldn't swear, but those are rare. If you had used the search function, you'd see that we already have a topic about that.

I expect you're half joking, but that really is back to front. Swear words are made for when you are angry, upset, frustrated or want to offend someone. They are not meant to be used in place of normal words (in a normal sentence), and do generally offend most people (in the real world). When they are used gratuitously, as is often the case on this forum, it comes across as very boorish to me.

And Rev Lamb/Lost Lamb, the tone of his post didn't strike me in the least as suggesting that he thinks the world revolves around him, he was just offering his opinion. This is a forum after all, and you can't post something without making some sort of statement of your own opinion (unless of course the poster is one of the innumerable kids who posts offensive/provocative crap because they think it makes them look good).

Quiet you. This is the Slayer of Trolls/Ravager of Women/Like a Duracell Bunny you're talking about here.

You're just going to have to accept that some people just don't give a **** how you were raised to use English. Respect other cultures.

Ah, hell. You know I'd go gay for you anyway.

When among friends, people tend not to give a ****. Swear words can be used as expressions, jokes, mild emphasis, etc. Most people don't consider this forum to be a formal place. We're just chillin. Furthermore, when I say most people aren't offended, you shouldn't stretch that to the populace of the world, but keep it in the context of what we're talking about: this forum. It is true that most people here don't mind, and situations where the majority of people would care are rare.

CW was joking, and you need to get to know LL better.

Do you know how much bandwidth we'd use if every idiot posted a question instead of using a search function and getting the answer there? And bandwidth isn't free.
Honestly, it takes less time to search for an answer then to post some garbled nonsense and have someone else try to decipher your crappy spelling and then answer your question. It is in the forum rules which you should read before you start posting.

Second of all is the way some people treat grammar and spelling. I'm all for using it but some people have better things to do then proofread all their posts.

Really? I've seen ****e so bad I've had to ask the people to repeat their posts just so I can help them.
I had a guy post this:
DildenTheHobbit 说:
No i didnt know yahoo had the error. Oh also once you use the cd-key if you try to use it again will there be an error for that application or will it just send because i made the yahoo one witht eh cd key then another and it let me apply with the same key.
Some garbled crap I couldn't make heads or tails of, when I asked him to use proper grammar and spelling, this is what I got:
DildenTheHobbit 说:
*Sigh* Grammer time. Ok, well I will just restate the whole damn thing. My first application for the warband beta used a yahoo adress, Yahoo had problems with the warband application as we all know. That application was where I used my serial key for mount and blade. I want to know, if you already used the serial key for mount and blade for a previous warband application and you make another warband application with the same serial key will the application allow you to use it or will it simply not be sent?

Which one do you think is better? Which one is understandable and explains his problem so that I can read it?

SIMPLY put this is a mature forum and yes eiither for ****es and giggles or seriously people will get flamed for the people who don't use the search function.
Simple as that.
And if that is too much to ask. At least ACT Intelligent

I remember reading somewhere that a street or something in London had that word in its name or something...

If Warband hits (and it likely will) Tale Worlds will likely have to formalize the forum.  There will be much stricter controls on language, references to sexual conquests (both in and out of your own gender), and genitalia; I've never actually seen racist language on here but there will be a some requirement for that to be eliminated strictly enforced.

Enjoy this community while it lasts.  When it comes to represent a serious and emerging company it will be (rightly so) sanitized for our protection.

In the mean time - frig, darn it, gosh, jeepers, shoot - I can swear.

Why would the Warband release be any different than the M&B release in terms of the Admins tightening the noose? Also, racist comments are a bannable offence as written in the forum rules.

Enjoy this community while it lasts.  When it comes to represent a serious and emerging company it will be (rightly so) sanitized for our protection.

It's not very likely, given the surge of new people the Mount and Blade release brought in and the inactivity of the admins and devs in regards to changing forum rules.

I dont see what the problem with all constant grammar checking is.
Since I joined the forum the use of proper grammar has helped me with some English assignments, as well as help me pass some of my English tests.
It also helps you be more professional in your business E-mails and letters of any sort.
