Magorian Aximand 说:The forum rules state that you should search for an older topic that could answer your question before posting, and that you should post in that thread instead of creating a new one. I've never understood why it is considered rude to let new people know that they should be following forum rules, and general forum etiquette. I always try to answer their question and remind them to use the search function.
I've never had a problem using the search function; it always works just fine. So if there is trouble, the problem isn't with the tool.
You'll just have to get used to the swearing. It won't go away. Most people aren't offended by it, and most people don't consider it generally inappropriate. Sure, there are occasions you shouldn't swear, but those are rare. If you had used the search function, you'd see that we already have a topic about that.![]()
I expect you're half joking, but that really is back to front. Swear words are made for when you are angry, upset, frustrated or want to offend someone. They are not meant to be used in place of normal words (in a normal sentence), and do generally offend most people (in the real world). When they are used gratuitously, as is often the case on this forum, it comes across as very boorish to me.
And Rev Lamb/Lost Lamb, the tone of his post didn't strike me in the least as suggesting that he thinks the world revolves around him, he was just offering his opinion. This is a forum after all, and you can't post something without making some sort of statement of your own opinion (unless of course the poster is one of the innumerable kids who posts offensive/provocative crap because they think it makes them look good).
