The Royal Dorsetshire Regiment of Foot serves the English Monarchy,through life and death.
Dorsetshire is a small rural English county,and like most English counties,was involved in the English civil war.
Although no large battles took place in Dorset,there were a few battles which the locals remember,including the battle of Weymouth(1645),which left the town in ruins.Another event that took place was "The Dorset Clubmen",a group of 5000 angry civilians who had no allegience to either side,but only being armed with clubs and pitchforks,they were soon routed by the forces of Cromwell.
We are a new regiment,made up of Musketeers.
