All stabs are too slow, which is why sword users rarely stab... which is annoying.
They definitely need to speed it up. I hate how long it takes to stab at a cav with a pile or long spear. You have to time it just right while they just can couch for two minutes... actually, you should be able to couch a long spear on foot.
I suggest spears have a quick thrust and holding the left mouse button keeps the spear thruster. I mean it's not like you have to wind up on a thrust.
