Not in that post. Admit it, you ****ed up. Anyway, just forget about Swadii and chastise him when necessary, is all ...

I ****ed up? Perhaps. But at least I'm not ****ed up, unlike some. No chastisement intended, of course.

Make things interesting. A world population of Average Joes would make suicide so much more tempting. Have a few loonies, and things are far more fun.

update:  For all you guys who want to play this badly.  We are working on it.

You assistance would be appreciated in the following areas:

Download the OSP 18th Century uniforms, and create some new textures in civilian browns, greys, blues to suit the coats and breeches.  The fact that the models are hung with military gear is correct: The intention is to use them for the guerilla (partisans, if you didn't know).
No excuses, either: OSP is available to all, all you need after that is a graphics editor.
post a screenie here of your efforts, and if we like it, we'll ask you to send us the brf and texture files.

Spanish style architecture for houses.  Not too high, maybe 2 or max 3 levels.  Models please to be textured using the native buildings textures.

Now, all of you, I don't want to hear a peep until we've got some screenies up here!

PS Don't be offended if you offer your hard work here and we don't want it.  We are choosy, and we only need a few particular items.....

Erm Amman, the OSP 18th century uniforms don't really work with the rest of the models in TPW due to the way they're set up.. while it's not a bad idea, making variations on the civillian models in the current release BRFs would be more useful.

I hope I can join a highland brigade.  And just curious I'm not to sure about the history and I'm off to class right now so I can't look it up, but did the scots greys play a role? They assumed the nickname in 1877 I believe and the time period of this mod has slipped my mind.

1877 is.. A bit late for the Peninsular War, I beleive.. Sorry mate.

Oh yep, 1811 is the date for this mod. I was hoping for this.

Although I was just doing a bit of reaserch and found that they were involved in the charge of british heavy cavalry at Waterloo, which was a few years later, but means they may have seen action on the peninsula.

"The 1st Brigade, known as the Household Brigade, commanded by Major-General Edward Somerset (Lord Somerset), consisted of 'guards regiments': the 1st and 2nd Life Guards, the Royal Horse Guards (the Blues), and the 1st 'King's' Dragoon Guards. The 2nd Brigade, also known as the Union Brigade, commanded by Major-General Sir William Ponsonby, was so called as it consisted of an English (1st, 'The Royals'), a Scottish (2nd, 'Scots Greys'), and an Irish (6th, 'Inniskilling') regiment of heavy dragoons."

I just want to ask how many different types of flintlock pistol are their? I love the standard pistol that's already in the game, but after fighting off hundreds of Kaiserlicher troops with it, I need to change it up every once and a while.

Hopefully, quite a few. There were numerous differing designs during this period, and initially no set pattern for production, so variation from weapon to weapon is to be expected. Officers especially purchased much of their own equipment, so again, there would be numerous designs in use. Among the ranks however, equipment was issued, so here at least you would expect to see identical (in terms of make) arms in use.

ATM there's a British and French standard issue cavalry pistol.. so only 2 so far... hopefully I'll add more at some point in the future.

I know...  I wanted to give the 'ooooh I can't wait' brigade something constructive to do.  Without them needing access to the mod data....

Re the Scots' Greys (2nd or Royal North British Dragoons, to you lot) I am pretty sure they were not in Wellington's army during the 1810-1812 years.  The British heavy cavalry at Salamanca, for example, were the 3rd 4th and 5th Dragoon (Guards) regiments, plus the heavy cavalry of the KGL.  There's an OOB further back in the thread for Fuentes d'Onoro, and I don't remember seeing the 2nd Dragoons there either...

Oh alright, I suppose I'll make do.

Interestingly enough, I found a source for the Highland Light Infantry wearing kilts - Their uniform according to Haythornthwaite's "Uniforms of the Peninsula War" should be trews...

Incorrect old todger, they have been nicknamed the Grey dragoons or Scots Greys pretty much since their formation, the name became official in 1877 whe they were renamed 2nd Dragoons (Royal Scots Greys) rather than just plain old 2nd Dragoons.

Ah, I see you have chanced 'pon those most mystical of topics, which scots wore kilts, trews or trouser? I  took the view that noone else knows, so take the most appealing choice.

I have made a couple of variants for each of the three civvie textures, were the alpha channels relevant though? I got a pop up saying photoshop had removed the alpha when saving.
