Problem with that is that horse guards never actually fought in combat.
Except in Flanders, the Peninsula and at Waterloo.
Really? I was under the impression that it was were officers got their commissions

Well I suppose Officers and gentlemen would go to Horse Guards parade when trying to gain their commission but the Horse Guards itself was made up of the 1st and 2nd Life Guards and the Royal Horse Guards (Blues). The Blues fought the most but the Life Guards did enter late into the Peninsula war and at Waterloo I believe.

I saw a massive post full of good links on the nap wars forum (courtesy of Druzhina), I thought you may get some use from it Docm so here it is:

Oh by the way Docm, I don't know if this was answered earlier but is it possible to do something about the incredibly calm and stupid populace in towns. What I mean is that I hate it when in other mount and blades you walk around towns shooting guns, swinging swords at people and they just walk by not even caring and you can't even kill them ! So is it possible to make them for example not invincible and when you start shooting or killing, make all the civilians panic making the guards come down at you?

Is there something wrong with you... Mr. Homicidal Maniac? It is kind of weird though. I like how when you're in a barfight, and you take out a ranged weapon (Warband and WFaS), the bartender rushes to you, and makes you put the weapon away. If, this could be implemented into what TheOrest007 said, I'm curious if it would work. And, if one starts killing people in the streets, maybe have everyone become hostile, you lose huge amounts of relations with the towns, and everyone starts attacking you, or some will run away and some will attack.

in WFAS if you shoot the mayor he does die, but no guards react, and he comes back just fine the next day. I think its actually a glitch.

Yeah, there's a mod someone made... "WFaS Enhancement" I believe, it fixed loads of glitches, added a new faction, added new units, weapons, etc. It was pretty good. Until WFaS got patched and the mod died.

OFICIAL DE LA GUERRILLA DE D.JULIAN SANCHEZ - 1809

I can't wait to see a cramped and dirty pre-1812 Red Square, with random houses, peddlers' shops everywhere, and the old "trading rows" of Quarenghi.
O5Y6mka.jpg

I'm also curious where you'll set St. Petersburg's "walk the streets" scene... since any one iconic location would omit others (the city is too sprawling, in a way).

I'm interested to see how he'll pull off Southern Spain. All of that Moorish and Spanish architecture, much detail will be required.

Of course Docm's one of the best texture creators I've ever seen. I can't wait to see some cities, onwards and upwards!

OFICIAL DE LA GUERRILLA DE D.JULIAN SANCHEZ - 1809

All I see is a hotlinking image, but judging by the title "OFICIAL DE LA GUERRILLA DE D.JULIAN SANCHEZ" I'd say it's a guy in a fur-lined, gold-laced coat with a red sash and either a wide-brimmed hat or a French shako with the eagle turned upside down. I've got a million images of those, including the 1810 original they're all based off.

I'm thinking around where the Admiralty, Palace Square and Nevsky Prospekt all converge. It's one of the more iconic areas of the city and would provide everything I need in a city scene.

Moscow will be interesting to do. Making St. Basil's won't exactly be a simple undertaking. The fact that there's a tavern sitting between a church and the entrance to an imperial fortress is interesting, too.
