I guess the cannons are not finished yet ? They look abit undetailed and dont fit to your detailed models.

*gasp*
Did you... did you just say... that something is undetailed?

I am aksing wheter the cannons are WIP or not, becouse the ship model looks pretty awesome and definetly better than the cannons

I did not say that it is undetailed.. I guess I should have said: "They look abit undetailed compared to your other, more detailed models."
Atleast thats what i wanted to express. Excuse me if you understood it differently.

Can someone explain to me why the French wore their scimitars that way round, how the hell did they get em out?!?!?! You'd have to bend forward and contort your arm at an unnatural angle.

The same reason the Samurai wore their swords edge up, drawing the weapon and then slashing an opponent can be done in one continuous motion.

Looks great but there is one thing that kinda is bugging me about the ship.

The wood doesnt really end at the holes, it seems you pasted a image on it and didnt really pay attention to the holes(what ever there called).

Im just wondering when this is going to be released  looks superb!!!

When it's done, which will probably be a while. He's doing this in his spare time, so don't expect professional release deadlines.

Well I would say spare time, he must be working most of the time to do this all on is owneo.

The cannons are only 250 triangles, as I wanted to keep them as low as possible so that I could have several. They do look pretty plain, though, and I think I can get away with a little more detail (the ship is only about 12000 triangles total, so I've got some to spare).

As for the name, I think I'll call it the Good Ship Venus.

It's based roughly on the USS/HMS Essex, which was a 36 gun Frigate. The Norfolk from The Far Side of the World was also based on the Essex.

I've got tons of reference and all of it shows frigates with guns that close to the wheel. Frigates were small ships and had to pack the guns everywhere they possibly could. During a battle the deck would get so crowded it was nearly impossible to move about.
