It looks realy good, I love the smoke effekts, but is it possible to make the gun smoke even bigger, without lag, make it more of a puff thing. I think that would help the look alot(as it would with all blackpowder mods)

It would depend on what weapon was being fired, different muskets used different measurings of black powder to project the bullet or ball.If this mod is historically accurate with weapons, can you give us a list on wich ones are included? maybe like the Brown Bess for example.Or does this mod just include firearms from other mods like Flintlock pistols and stuff with no name?

its not needed to make similiar weapons historical, because most ppl wont even notice it in this case. for 1866 or our mod its fine, because its easy to get weapon stats and those differences would really change the gameplay.
I really doubt that anyone will care about size of smoke

Well if you look at an old fashioned arquebuss compared to a revolutionary era musket the smoke difference is significant but i guess it doesn't matter in that case.

Will there be more than those costumes because they all looked so plain like white cloth and the other guys brown with musketeer hats. Will there be like redcoats and blue coats guys because it is around like 1812.
you've got a point there, i will edit swadian and veagir costumes with backpacks and stuff.
But it's entirely fictional so no exact redcoats or blue coats will come into play.

Thanks for the response, you see i didn't know it was entirely fictional.

secondly if you are thinking of continuing this mod into something big like that, if you want i can help out with some modelling in the future.

nah, the smoke from most muskets of the early 1800s were prety much the same, even when you moved from flint to Percussion the smoke out of the barrle was prety much the same.

and even if it wasn't it would still be bigger then those in the musket mods for mount and blade

Oh gods, not that again Every time someone wants to talk about the battles of the era they always choose THAT clip. Out of so many.

yeah, the clip from last of the mohiecans is better, when the indians attack the british colloum. great smoke. realy show just how much smoke you get from a flink lock when there's no wind to blow it away.

the battles in the patriot is just bad, not the way the war was fought at all

it was just a quick search :p

btw xDELTAx, could you try to make some banners for flag carrier troops? I would really love that.

Here Freak_Oz.. this pictures may give you a little inspiration as far as costumes go as they feel somewhat similar to the feel your mod has. I think prehaps you should drop your date back from 1823 as it feels like a far far earlier timeframe (But it is another world where development may be slower I guess, so my point is moot  ) but as you see their costumes could easily be skinned on the native clothes your using and they even use the same weapons as some of your troops.

Ive been trying to get a good smoke particle but I havent been able to yet.  The current one I have now does make the game lag big time on lower end machines (like mine) if there is a lot of shooting and you are looking directly into the smoke.

I think the smoke looks fine... it's the lack of a proper muzzle flash that really hurts fire arms mods... there's plenty of smoke, but no fire.

Hmm with my latest additions i don't think i can drop the date so easily back..
I gave it a really line battle like feeling.

Freak_oz

Line battle? You mean... a battle? Line battle is a BG2 term which has no need to be used when talking about real history. Battles have been fought in formations for a long long time y'know.. in fact the more modern the time period, the LESS they are fought in line.

And I'm talking in terms of equipment as well. As I said, the troops in that pic look very similar to your troops and they're from 1700sish, but Calradia is a fictional world, so you can mash up time periods as you like, so the argument is pointless.

But I think you should perhaps use the Cossacks etc for inspiration. As I said, it'd be an easy skinjob for you.

yeah the 1820-1840 in europe saw the most extreme of colorfull and fancy uniforms they made the uniforms of the napoleoinc eara look like burlap.

if it's to simulate the real 1820s but in a fictonal world the uniforms have to be prety extreme in every way. lots of colors, lots of flash and stuff like that.

those uniforms look more like what you would see in the great northern war or war of spanish succsetion

hmm... i think i will put time back to 1749 then or something..

yeah, that sounds good.

the uniforms of the mid 1700s were prety simple, hat, jacket, and some sort of pants,

and even tho the uniforms were diffrent, the normal person can't see the diffrence in uniforms from 1700 to 1750 or even 1770s
