The Music Thread

I just found the best music ever to listen to while playing Brytenwalda, especially if you're playing a Norse/Germanic pagan like me. Made by a rather unknown artist called Tyr from the Faroese islands. Although most songs are in Faroese so I can't understand most of it, they're still really ****ing awesome. Mostly heavy metal.

Enslaved

Better than anything that will be mentioned in here, with the exception of Bathory. At least up until and including "Frost".

There are too many really good viking/folk/black metal bands on the world

I - Warriors (this is heavy/black, but it sounds like viking)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RbL4RKWGQw

Irminsul - Midvinterblot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-zTm6JHbPo

Forefather - Steadfest
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uytm9-C-Nl8

However, I don't know too much Folk/Viking Metal :/, I'm listening more to Black Metal, like:

Immortal - The sun that no longer rises

Belenos - Spicelge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqsWJ56_GVk

Darkthrone - Skald Av Satan Sol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_F4KiYFVWQ

Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X64BM3Xu5hA

Obtained Enslavement - Witchcraft
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVDzQi-FSS4

Hymir - Let The World Be Cold
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7ouE2SU8s8

Carach Angren - Van Der Decken's Triumph (This is from a conceptual album, so it sounds more complete with the rest of the tracks)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hXKC8xXq-0

Klabautamann - When I long for Life
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRt-l6IYVsA

Necromass - A Serpent is screaming in the Abysm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nsv10Bds08

Setherial - In the still of a northern fullmoon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2talTNLDJMI

Thorngoth - Eternal Downfall
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh1F3kO9cns

It sounds the same, but once you get on the mood of the music, it is awesome.

And, if I play some other mods on medieval setting, I put some flamenco:

Niño Miguel - Brisas de Huelvas

Greetings ;d

viking metal: i get it but it makes me laugh. metal and vikings go together like peanut butter and chocolate, but it puts a funny picture in my head thinking of great viking warriors with their fat calloused (maybe a few missing) fingers trying to fly up and down the fretboard. boy it would have scared the crap outta the christians though. a frothing warband marching with hyper doublebass, spidery tremolo guitar rhythms, and guttural battle cry lyrics following them into battle.

I came in here to suggest those two bands. Did you know Salanias Song was actually song at some point in history by the Gauls? It blows the mind.

I JUST SAW THE SIG OF THE GUY WHO POSTED AHEAD OF ME! Wow I can't believe someone made a gif of the circle head banging. Awesome.

Eluveitie - great gaulish folk metal, I usually put some instrumental into game, like Cauldron of Renascence or Liminal Passage, and my favourite Inis Mona fits great into Brytenwalda mod

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iijKLHCQw5o

note that Inis mona instrumental is actually a popular breton song Tri Martolod

I also recomend Asturian bagpiper Hevia and Gallego artist Carlos Nuñez, Breton legend Alan Stivell if you like celtic music.

there is also In Extremo, great band from Germany, they mix medieval folk and rock/metal.
