The millionth where are the devs now thread

This is getting irritating. I refrained from even thinking negatively about it for weeks, but more than a month has passed since the game dropped to retail. Can anyone even confirm they're still alive and on this Earth? I hope they're all well but we wouldn't know they're even happy about the release or anything... I could guess they're patching bugs or something (not that I see a lot of bugs where it makes sense that's all they're doing...) but a simple, hello, don't worry we're not eaten by a grue and will have some things such as the module system out in time, would be nice.

Now, of course they don't have to do this but they're frustrating modders and and all the returning players alike with this kind of disappearance at a bad time.

I don't know what is going on, but judging from the response in the thread above, I feel all my support for this game has been wasted. I used to be a big supporter of the game, and got a lot of people interested in it as well.

That's how everybody acts in here . Everything in this forum has a streak of draconian to it. I don't think it's fair for people to expect goodwill from the devs to keep coming like it always has after they've delivered what they promised.

Yes. And they still support modding.

Frustration? disappearance? Not posting on the forums doesn't mean that they've disappeared. Besides, post on the forums or not, the next update/module system/whatever will still be done when its done.

Personally, Janus, I chalk it up to people loving M&B so much that they want it to stay alive and kicking till at least the end of the century.

That. And people want to play mods. Great big mods with tons of stuff that builds on what makes M&B so great, but that Armagan and others couldn't put in because they're still mortal (for now).

And that last one's a bit hard with the module system not out.

I understand the frustration.  Since the game was released almost/over a month ago, and everyone had had their hopes up to get busy modding or porting mods over to 1.003.  Now all the modders are waiting around for it to be released, with no word on it.  Even though its not the "right" of the modders to have the module system, it is just a difficult time for us as far as M&B goes.

Cursing at the public does not display professionalism.. "When the devs feels like it"... makes me want to punch a baby. Are the devs a bunch of 10 year old prodigies that have to do homework before they work on the game? Or are they ACTUALLY real DEVS!!! Like DEVS that work in a studio!!! and actually have conferences!!! and actually interact with the community, instead of having "mods" go on the forums to ***** at people about when the lazy ass devs are going to decide when to flip the coin on do something???

Yes, this is pretty much everything right there.

The thing is M&B got to its highly important big first release and... it was only half released. No module system. The waiting is making people anxious, cranky, etc... and as customers it IS our right to get peeved to have half a delivery of the final package and no word about where the rest is. Of course I have faith in them I just wish they'd light a fire under their asses or explain what the delay is now, which I'd find equally acceptable. Taking time = fine, but not if it's so much time and you can't communicate a single sentence to customers that's not good. See how this is bad for business? A month ago I was celebrating how good they are at this whole thing and now it feels like they're gradually losing "morale" from us.

However I have faith. It's just the annoyingness of how 'ghetto' modding is without the module system right now. We really need that thing to give the game its real longevity.


Changed my mind about making this thread. I'll just wait for the module system and do other things to keep my mind off it.
